I do find this lease confusing and you're right what you're saying but reading the RNS about the Mining Lease they are going to be taking ownership of 40% of E45/4701 and when the Mining Lease is signed off Newcrest will relinquish the Rights to the license back to 100% Ggp that is not in the Mining Lease.
To my daft mind it would be a perfect opportunity for Newcrest to offer something to remain 40% of the whole license especially if Ggp find something big in the next few weeks.
I would rather see Newcrest spending large sums on exploring Scallywag and PFS than Ggp issuing more shares. They would do it in far less time and Scallywag is closer to Telfer.

Newcrest are soon going to have legal ownership of 40% of E45/4701 until the Mining Lease is signed. That means they have 40% of Scallywag, Havieron and Blackhill South at least for a while.

Ggp are about to announce drilling at Scallywag.

Would it not be very tempting for Newcrest to offer an extension to the JV and keep hold of the 40% rather than relinquish it

If I was in Sandeep's shoes I would want to hold back what funds I have and keep to the 70% at Havieron.
When the exploration drilling slows up I would offer Ggp the rigs free of charge to drill the rest of E45/4701 for another joint venture.
I would play the waiting game though to see what Scallywag has to offer before making a move.
That way I would have 70% of a much larger area closer to Telfer probably cheaper than the 5%.

There are 7 different types of gold refining processes
Cupellation:- needs a large scale refinery, removes base metals but not silver or PGM
Inquartation and Parting:- small scale refinery removes base metals and silver but not PGMs
Miller Process needs a large scale refinery removes base metals and silver but not PGMs . Gold produced to 99.5% quality.
Wohlwill process , large refinery can extract base metals,silver and PGMs. Quality is 99.9% but only suitable when initial gold content is about 96% or above.
Fizzer cell small scale refinery, extracts base metals, silver and PGMs
Aqua Regis Large scale refinery extracts base metals, silver and PGMs
Can only be used when silver content is less than 10%
Pyromettalurgical process large scale refinery but copper remains in the gold and doesn't extract silver or PGMs

Miller Process
Wohlwill process
Aqua Regia digesting process
Electrolytic silver refining

The license at Havieron will be changing in the near future anyway. The legal process for Newcrest's 40% of E45/4701 12 blocks is progressing and when complete the Mining Lease will be applied for. On receipt of the Lease Newcrest will relinquish the Rights to the 12 blocks apart from the Mining area back to Ggp 100% as an exploration license .
I would expect the exploration license terms will be renewed and extended. News on the Mining Lease is imminent in my view but they may require the PFS to proceed.

Gold not Hold :)))

I've been looking around trying to find an idea of how much a Hold dore is worth.
A dore is around 25 kg and contains 50-70% pure gold and is sent to refiners from the miners probably by a Bullion bank fixer.
A dore is about 880 oz so that's somewhere between 440 and 500 pure gold ounces , roughly $900,000 worth.
One price I found on Indiamart asking prices of 100 Lakh per gold dore.
100 Lakh = $139,000
How does Hedging work in this respect?

I see Thor mining have reported stream sampling results on their Pilbara license.
I didn't realise they have 25% of Envirocopper Ltd.

Ggp though have much better stream sampling results from Panorama i.e. a 200 square kilometre Cobalt resource plus historic gold finds.
I'm sticking with Ggp :))

Some of the sample results showed quantities of Rare Earth Minerals Lanthanum- to buy pure Lanthanum $64 per gram
Uses can be added to lens for carbon lighting and manufacture hydrogen gas

Cerium - $57 per 100 grams
Used in catalytic converters
Both of these are not rare although classed as Rare Earth Minerals but are very complex to process

There are 4 things produced at Telfer
Gold dores weighing about 25kg which are sent to Perth for further refining and extraction of other minerals.
Copper Concentrate which has about 30% copper, the rest is gold,silver,cobalt, arsenic, iron, lead and others. This is sent to smelters to turn into copper mattes 1cm thick and 1m square with the other minerals removed.
These mattes are sent to other refiners to remove the oxides and further electrolysis before it is 99.9% copper.
Thirdly is crushed rock or waste
Fourthly is tailing sludge which is mainly the toxic residue
The processes at Telfer are only about 90% efficient so 10% of the minerals are either in the rock or sludge

There are 2 copper smelters in Australia that I can find one in Oak Dam,SA and Mount Isa , Queensland.
I've read that the concentrate from Telfer ends up in Asia.

The Telfer processing plant sends copper concentrate to a smelter where other minerals are extracted and credited to the producer and unwanted toxics such as arsenic are debited to the producer.

Black hills south is in E45/4701 and not in the Blackhills license and may revert back to Ggp once the Mining Lease is signed unless it's encompassed within the mining lease

from Greatland second drilling campaign at Havieron peak Cobalt concentration was 4104 ppm.
Average concentration in the earths crust is around 47ppm and 19 ppm in shales.
the DRC (Congo) has averages between 204 and 6105 ppm.
Congo is the worlds top producer at around 100,000t
Australia is the third largest producer at 5100t
The Australian refinery is 25km north of Townsville in Queensland with much of the ore imported from Indonesia

Proterozoic sandstone and carbonate rocks of the Yeneena Group formations are present, including the Telfer Formation, in a domal structure which is the equivalent geology to that of the large Telfer gold deposit located 30km to the west."

Could this be the 16m ton smaller structure?

In order to lodge an application for a Mining Lease covering the Joint Venture Area ("JV Area") at Havieron, a 12 block area within E45/4701 in which Newcrest has a 40% beneficial interest (see announcement dated 1 April 2020), Greatland will transfer a 40% legal interest in the registered title to E45/4701 to Newcrest.
Following the grant of the Mining Lease at Havieron, Newcrest will transfer its legal interest in the registered title to the Exploration Licence (being that part of E45/7401 not the subject of the Mining Lease application) to Greatland such that Greatland will re-establish a 100% legal interest in the registered title to E45/4701. No change in beneficial interest will occur at this point with both parties maintaining their respective share in the Joint Venture and Greatland retaining a 100% beneficial interest in the remainder of E45/4701.

By drilling to the NW are Newcrest aiming to get Blackhills south into the mining lease?

Investing in funds is not for me, your putting your trust in someone else's ability to make a profit and taking all the fun out of share investing.
Last year there was a debate here on which stocks to hold in your portfolio- divi stocks or AIM stocks, most on this board we're against AIM stocks in the belief you would lose out all the time.
This year has seen a complete reversal with a lot of smaller companies showing huge gains which Funds would have missed because of their investment criteria.
Regular posters on here began to see my logic when I first mentioned Ggp.
using your logic a £10,000 investment 3 years ago when I got in is now 25x higher.
An investment in ITM last Summer at 20p is now 15x.
Novacyt made for most on here 2x in a month.
So funds are not for me , I make my own destiny

Can you tell me if you have a tv,computer, mobile phones, holidays abroad,credit cards.
Bringing my kids up in the 70s was tough, none of the above, no child benefit for the first child, no housing benefit, 15% mortgage, only one bank loan allowed at a time and wives could not get a loan without husbands signatures.
I had to work 6 days a week then 6 nights behind a bar and still couldn't afford electricity.
I worked hard to make my kids future better than mine, I don't ever remember being bitter towards my elders they had their own difficult situations in younger lives.
I think it's called respect!
