The timeline is indicated in the referral, not definitive.

Here is my take on it:-

Reach ore body by March 2024

Start stockpiling Ore by boxcut. (Not a lot coming out at this stage)

3-6 months of further infrastructure to reach the Western Front infrastructure

Progressive stockpiling on the ROM

Production ramping up to end of 2024

Late 2024 infrastructure corridor to Telfer commences.

Toll processing of ore possibly could mean primary crushing at ROM and further grinding by sub contractors.

Transport will start when enough ore is ready 40 round trips per day for a 3mt operation is roughly 200t per trip over 24 hours.

This should start slowly before the road is completed.

In the referrals looks like an area has been earmarked for a new plant .

Why?, what for?, loads of questions

Newcrests environmental report has been submitted to the government.

Havieron has been classed as a controlled area so now has to go to other committees for approval, the first one has already gone to the Commonwealth Climate Change Committee.

There are 4 others that have to approve.

The referral in itself is an amended referral application for Telfer from 2004, so there are amendments at Telfer for the Plant upgrades, the access corridor from Telfer to Havieron and the inclusion of Havieron.

Classing it all as one development.

Most of Havieron amendments were submitted for the PFS so most are just formalities apart from the additional information on the Stage 2 mine proposals.

The Stage 2 is still reflecting a 3mt pa extraction plan.

Further amendments will come in time when a stage 3 is announced.

That would be the combined total

Sounds like they don’t intend to breach the surface at least with this proposal due to the paste backfilling

Given continued interest in the project, the Company is commissioning an independent third-party expert to review project results to date. This review aims to contextualise the geology and potential of the Artemis ground relative to others, and to harden the current prospective targets prior to expenditure commitment. Concurrently, the Company will consider all avenues to fund the next stage of exploration, including potential third party funding and joint venturing opportunities.”

Cut back 8 hadn’t been found then and the gold price was lower.

The gold price rising has definitely increased the mine life of Telfer.

They are actively looking for more, but nothing reported yet, 12 months time it will be nearly depleted.

Without Havieron the plant would have to be dismantled, so is $1 too much 🤣

There’s hardly any left at Telfer.

The jv at Havieron specifically says the Decision will be after the Feasibility Study.

Shaun has stated that this is only a formality.

If one party doesn’t want to mine the other has the right to purchase the others percentage.

We all know that Shaun will want to go mining, if Newmont say not at this moment, Shaun will be pressing them to sell.

There can be no other devils advocate!

I wouldn’t say Havieron will be one of their biggest assets,

Havieron is unique in its compact beautiful vertical high quality orebody.

At the moment it wouldn’t get into a combined top 10 of their assets.

Those top 10 are shown in Newmonts latest presentation.

Brucejack scraped in at 10.

Cadia is No 1 and Red Chris 3 it’s these 2 they wanted for the copper reserves.

The latest presentations have all been about increasing the asset at Red Chris and Wafi Golpu.

Whether they will sell off Wafi is another matter but they have an eager buyer for Havieron and Telfer, this would offload some of the liabilities and Telfer is a big liability why would they want to keep it?

I personally don’t know why Newcrest haven’t bigged up Havieron, they tried to big up Telfer instead.

That scenario I don’t believe can happen they will have to start closing Telfer and losing all their staff.

The Australian government won’t allow that to happen.

A high price on our 30%, they will either pay or just carry on with the 70% or sell up completely.

Whose gonna want Telfer without Havieron, the values at Telfer from that latest presentation show Havieron ore included with Telfers, if you deduct Havieron ore there’s not much left.

I’ve met Goldworm a few times now, the last one in a pub with 4 of us chatting.
