Magical time of the year again with the shortest day.
It's been 6 years now since Newcrest reported their first drill results at Havieron, so in December 2019 the share price started to rise and hit 2p.
What followed was a very turbulent year. When Covid struck I got out of TW and Columbus energy and at least 10 others and went into Novacyt and other health tech getting out with profits topping up my Ggp that was rising steadily through the Summer. This is when I started posting here, defending Paddy from that vile Sicilian Kan.
Covid didn't affect the miners in WA that much and Ggp shares continued to rise, after further fantastic results from Newcrest. It reached 37p on Dec 24th 2020, how people sold then I don't know. I actually bought a few around 33p.
2021 wasn't a good year for the sp with a steep decline but it was actually a fantastic year for newsflow. At the end we saw Gervaise leave and Shaun being appointed.
The PFS and MMRE gave glimpses of what to expect time wise and I had in my head that 2025 would be a good year from the PFS guidance. That has happened but for completely different reasons.
Shaun arriving in 2022 taking over a company with no money, they kept that mighty quiet. His 3 years was spent unpicking the Newcrest shenanigans and then their takeover by Newmont and then buying Telfer and Havieron.
These highs and lows are now behind us.
A couple of years ago the Money of mine podcast did a piece on who would be buying Telfer and the inference would Ggp buy it or themselves get bought. It was a bit derogatory towards Ggp and our shareholders boards. They just didn't get it and I'm sure they still don't fully understand what is happening with Ggp. They certainly don't understand our enthusiasm but it's their loss.
Anyway 2026 can only be a year of certain growth especially regarding at least 190,000m of drilling to be announced in the next 6 months.
A huge workload, huge profits, a high capex and high ounces of gold coming out.
Bring it on 🙂
Good luck all and enjoy your Christmas.
