Excellent headline interview with CEO Kris Hagerman in this weekend's Sunday Telegraph business section.
Good to see Numis Securities' new (June 1st) target is 544p
the subject should have read: 'Woodford tech holding hit by fraud claim' but that seems to be too many words

A very positive outlook from the Full Year Results & Strategic Report. Some serious director buying. A new website design. What's not to like?
Edison Investment Research has a fairly positive update on one of the Trust's investments: Thinfilm Electronics - set to ride the NFC wave http://www.edisoninvestmentresearch.com/research/report/thin-film-electronics33/preview/
In today's Telegraph: "Patient Capital Trust, the new investment fund set up by the closely-followed manager money Neil Woodford, will not charge its investors a fee this year after the volatile stock markets knocked the value of the fund’s listed investments." Regarding MINI.... I hedged my bets & invested in both. I'm certainly pleased with the way MINI is performing, but I am also exceedingly patient....
OSLO, Norway, February 19, 2016 – Thin Film Electronics ASA (“Thinfilm” or “the Company”) (OSE: THIN.OL; OTCQX: TFECY), a global leader in printed electronics and smart systems, today announced that Woodford Investment Management (“Woodford”) has agreed to acquire 120,000,000 new shares in Thinfilmin a private placement at a subscription price of NOK 3.00 per share totalling NOK 360,000,000 (USD 42 million). Upon completion of the transaction, Woodford will hold 17.8% of the shares in the Company. Upon subscription in the offering, Woodford will also receive 40,000,000 warrants, each with an exercise price of NOK 4.50. "IDEX ASA today announces that its Cardinal touch fingerprint sensor product has been selected by a tier-one Smartphone manufacturer for use in a device to be distributed by a major wireless carrier. This landmark design win comes as a result of the IDEX sensor successfully completing an extensive evaluation and module customisation with the Mobile OEM." Up 25% in first 15 minutes of trading....
I was interested to see that the two shares I suggested WPCT might be in to are showing at numbers 21 and 22 on the list. Silence has dropped a little since the purchase, but Idex has been going up very nicely, and today was having a second attempt at breaking through the 10 NOK barrier - trading far higher in the last month than on any previous occasion.
'Broker slaps a 'sell' warning on Woodford Patient....' 'Brokers at Stifel say strong performance of shares in Neil Woodford-managed trust have rendered them expensive.' Don't think I'll be following their advice!
Was that just one single trade at 16h35? 23.9 million @ £115.5. According to HL it was a buy - hope it was! Good weekend all
'morning grippa. Yes, I agree that there's only a finite number of shares. I should have expounded on my thought pattern at the time of my previous post. fundamentalanalysis posted that "quite a few contractors, work colleagues and some friends are talking about investing in this fund", and I read this as all being private - &, hopefully, long-term - investors. As a further snapshot I added the HL ratios, as I imagined that many/most of those are PIs too? I guess I am just hoping that a reasonable proportion of the Trust ends up in the accounts of long-term, patient PIs.
WPCT has featured at or near the top of HL's 'Morning Buy/Sell Ratios' newsletter, which shows their Top Ten traded stocks every morning, ever since launch - and, needless to say, 'buys' have always been in a significant majority.
Because of the Tunbridge Wells connection, AJ Bell is getting coverage in Kent press: "The Manchester-based group has an office in Tunbridge Wells and will see £13 million come in from the CF Woodford Equity Income Fund, which seeks long-term returns from companies who can deliver sustainable growth. A further £8 million will be provided by Woodford Patient Capital Trust Plc. the investment trust branch of the funds management company."
'Fag packet' maths... I believe that Woodford's investment in Idex was around £24 million. According to the latest Equity Income Fund full portfolio listing Idex comprises 0.34%, which is in excess of £20 million. So maybe there's no Idex in WPCT? Silence Therapeutics shows Woodford as owning 5.97% of the company. That's 4,166,666 shares at a bid of £3. Silence isn't shown on the latest Equity Income Fund list, so it's possibly fair to assume that it's in WPCT?
Hi Cacher, it will certainly be interesting to see how WPCT and MINI (Miton UK Microcap) compare with each other over the next few years. I've invested in both as part of this year's ISA.
Woodford Investment Management's stake in Silence Therapeutics (SLN) has just passed the 5% mark (actually 7%). Whether Woodford held any prior to this RNS I don't know. However, there is a 'Full Portfolio' list of all the Equity Income Fund holdings on the Woodford website - dated March 31st - & Silence is not shown there. Another one missing from this list is Idex, a company I flagged earlier
