Todays update is what i wanted to see.

Margins up, FUM not bled much.

Dividend sustainable...

But margins up is nice to see.

We need to see what happens in Q1. If the sentiment towards the business is wavering and outflows continue then its time to review. There is still a net positive operation going on, just with less capital sloshing about than expected.

Q1 update will be telling to see if they have been out and about trying to recover FUM.

Is it a buy opportunity. Running yield is 9.62% at time of writing... I am still a buyer, just not as strong until i see Q1.

I am still here. No selling from me. For a few reasons. residual value seems pointless to sell and a continued belief in potential value (from these levels).

I am also not too concerned about this being taken private.

I just want my ongoing ownership.

I'm not "happy" to be a long term piece of the picture here but if CIG are open to existing shareholders being kept on when delisting. I am absolutely ok with being a shareholder in this as it moves away from DB and into proffessional hands just as its getting its feet on the ground as a young miner.

Add to the fact that I am 85% down on a reasonable chunk of change and I am really not keen on the idea of selling...

So, I am happy to suck it and see... there is for sure money to be made here, just not on a liquid market.

If i hear or see nothing from HUM for 10 years until its paid itself down and has probably become a completely different company then thats ok. Compared to accepting a big forced sell and loss, im happy to cling on and just see how it plays out.

maybe very immature of me, maybe a bit of simplistic fearful methods.... maybe its calm and sensible..... not sure yet...

but in 5 years time i might have more of an idea.

In the meantime the rest of my pf is paying nice fat divis all round so im not tooooo upset about this.

My 200k shares consigned to a life of dust gathering. If they come to something, great... if not, also resigned to that fact.

At least i can literally move on and focus on the rest of my pf now...

They are still selling gold at these levels... just not as much. The gold price is still acting as a backup the whatever mess is coming. Its just the market doesn't care. But the balance sheet does and it will be thankfully be reflect in the loss mitigation it brings.

These were trading at 13p before they even poured an oz at Yanfolila a long time ago....

I have been holding and buying and selling since then.

We now have 2 mines and one for sale and stuck under 10p with the best gold backdrop ever.

It just doesn't stack up.

I have 2 accounts both of which have an average of about 19p. But i do hold more than i should have allowed myself too in terms of pf share.

I put it down to underlying value belief being the driver. But sadly the underyling value is covered in many many many layers of inadequate performance both corporately and operationally.

My bad.

Investing in profitable miners from now on i reckon. or establishing a harder % of pf for prospective opportunties.

We live and learn. Or i hope we do.

Yes and i think poor little Dan knows that if Q3 isnt spot on then HUM is in genuine trouble.

He SHOULD be doing everything he can to make sure Q3 is a success or he wont have his precious cash cow (salary) for much longer.

There does come a point where even Dan has to pull his socks up and get things done... at this point will he or can he even do that for his own skin, never mind poor old PI's.

Agreed. If there is no substance i really don't care too much about the froth in the price here.

Everyone is so far down that these little bubbles mean very little without some actual positive news.

Just look at the trades though... its pennies in trades... when there are trades posted for £50k+ this has no substance.

Dan must be so embarrassed all the time. In the current gold environment to not be full taking advantage of that and generating incredible FCF is unacceptable.

The absolute state of the global economy global unrest and lack of resolution for any of it is his only saving grace. Which is a horrible thing to basically be keeping this company conscious in a strung out fight for survival.

Looking at the cross section of their intended activity and actual on slide 17 of the recent presentation. Corica really dont have much to stand on in terms of asknig for full payment. Only a fool would cough up for that kind of performance.

And as Bushy says, if you are willing to allow someone else to control your "elite mining squad" then you are more of a pretender than a player that holds their own standards in high regard.

I think the Corica issue after seeing the section and now the willingness to relinquish control i think if and when there is a settlement is will be in the low $m figures for the progress they made in the period to 2 weeks ago.
