"Over the past 300 million years the temperature has been warmer 85% of the time than it is now. The average is a few degrees more than the present (20yr) average,...."

Typical from the 'do nothing' brigade.
You may be correct about the temperature 300 million years ago....but I don't believe humans were around at the time (unless you include the Flintstones!!). Human civilisation - as we know it - is a relatively recent phenomenon, it is highly dependent on stable weather patterns and a temperate climate. The recent rise in CO2 levels and gloabl temperatures is NOT normal. It risks upsetting our balanced planet eco-system, current CO2 sinks could become less effective or at worse start contributing to CO2....something called positive feedback (not good).
I wonder if the people at Pompeii were getting similar advice when it started to errupt...."oh, we have seen this sort of thing before, it is nothing to worry about!".
Admittedly, they could have been correct but as we now know....sometimes it is better to move away from the volcano....nothing may happen BUT is it really worth taking the risk!
PS If certain people told me it was sunny out I would take an umbrella.
