Stevie, 'widespread systemic fraud'....you missed out the important bit. The evidence has to show 'widespread' fraud in order for a judge to overturn the result. There are bound to be a few fraudulent votes in any system...postal or in person. Negating an election result because of a handful of dodgy ballots would disenfranchise millions of valid votes...no judge would do that (in US or UK).
I'm not sure what Tower Hamlets or Peterborough have to do with the US elections...which state are they in?!

Stevie, there is no credible evidence of widespread systemic voter fraud. Trump can litigate until he is blue (or that Orange?!) in the face....a judge needs real evidence to overturn election results. I'm not sure it will even reach the US Supreme court. The Supreme Courts in the contested states MAY throw out any legal action before it ever gets that far (although I don't really know the US legal system sufficiently to give a definitive answer).

I believe that all legal action must be resolved by early December (14th??) when the electoral colleges vote for the President, so time is running out for Trump.

The really scary thing is that Trump has tried to cast doubt on postal ballots for months....without a shred of evidence. Thankfully the US democratic system was strong enough to counteract his schenanigans e.g. with the Post Master general.

For such a decisive win it took an awfully long time to materialise!!...and 'some' people still haven't accepted the inevitable. But I suspect there are other games afoot.

Sure, we know the result of the presidency...apart from a 'few' people in denial. But the senate race in Georgia is still in play and vitally important to both sides. It will decide who controls the Senate and determine what Biden can achieve during his term in office. So the Republican bigwigs (Mitch McConnell et al) are using the fake news about voter fraud to excite Trumps base in Georgia hoping to secure the Senate seats. Interesting times.

Georgia is going to be very important in the coming few months.

Also, the margin of the win for Biden in some key swing states was a few 10's of thousands. Perhaps if Trump had been better at communicating the effectiveness of social distancing, wearing masks & washing of hands more of his core base would be with us today to have won him the election....food for thought.

But he is history now...time to move on to a Biden presidency & a UK-EU free trade deal (BRINO).

Without the virus Trump would have won the election easily.

But Trump had a 'bad' pandemic and killed off a lot of his base, which isn't a good way to win an election.

Lloyds is a dull but fairly safe bet IMO. Low interest rates not good for them. But long to medium term circa 30p will be seen as cheap 'probably'. Talk of a dividend soon too.

A Brexit deal - even a very slim trade deal - could give the FTSE a boost before Xmas. Any deal is better than No deal apparently (according to certain economists)!!

We don't really know what TRMR plan to do with all the shares they are accumulating in Treasury. Cancellation or another purpose.

I'm not sure the acqusition history of Facebook is a realistic comparision to the likes of TRMR. If FB were to buy a company for £100m that failed to deliver any benefits it wouldn't matter. TRMR have to be much more selective & careful in how they spend their cash. One bad move could take a long time to recover from.

The Unruly deal was 'probably' quite a clever deal. If there are any further deals then hopefully they can be equally astute.

I get the feeling a company that a company that tries to consolidate the latest merger or tread water for any length of time is submerged by the competitors and/or changing events & technology. So mergers/takeovers/partherships are inevitable IMO.

In the past RTHM could possibly be accused of using mergers to obscure underperformance....there were forever jam tomorrow statements, "Just let the current takeover bed in!!"...but there was always another takeover/merger taking place.

Hopefully TRMR can deliver investor value whilst being involved in the inevitable market consolidation.

Tricky, so you think what is important is the message that TRMR is sending? That they expect to have lots of 'spare' cash available in the coming months/years.

The buy-back shares must be an asset of sorts...until they are cancelled.

Not sure I understand the logic.

A share buy-back reduces the shares in circulation (assuming they aren't re-issued). It increases the PE (assuming it is in profit)....which could allow for a bigger dividend (perhaps??!). Not sure if market cap would necessarily be increased, possibly the opposite. Since ranking depends on market cap and not SP as such, a buy-back isn't guaranteed to increase ranking.

It seems that TRMR's share buy-back is being used to accumulate shares that could be used in a merger/takeover. They don't appear to be cancelling them....so they must have a plan (or perhaps they just like the flexibility of having 'cheap' shares in the bank).
