A PLAN to reopen travel between the United States and the UK is set to be announced today following a positive meeting between President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

A new 'green corridor' is set to opened which will allow passengers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to travel freely between the two nations, with no quarantine requirements during or after travel.

The scheme is designed to reinvigorate transatlantic travel, and hopefully kickstart the otherwise desperate tourism and hospitality industries in both countries.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters about the plan during a recent press briefing.

"We've established two working groups of experts, public health experts: one with the United Kingdom and one with the European Union," he said.

General Electric used to make fridges until 1941, when the factories were given turbo chargers to manufacture for piston engine bombers. (relevant turbine technology for jet engines).

Come the cold war and UK gave away the materials and processes and key design info with which to make successful jet engines to USA. Frank Whittle took more than ten years to develop the first successful jet engines (1944).

By Feb 9th, we were in a 10 week extension period, so I assume 300 instruments were supplied prior to end of 14 week Phase 1 period. 150 instruments must be a further order, but we appear to have supplied more than 150.

IMO present vaccines will become ineffective against a mutated virus in future.

3 Pursuing an oral treatment. - Much easier (and faster, - supply permitting), to dose people than injections.
(Easier to dose children?).

The Delta (Indian) variant is 64% more transmissible than the Alpha (Kent) variant indoors.

The Alpha variant was 70% more transmissible than original Wuhan virus.

The Delta variant is therefore 1.7 * 1.64 = 2.79 times more transmissible than original Wuhan virus.

I don't see any moaning going on in that post, nor any condescending attitude.

If DHSC was not the biggest known customer, a very different complexion would be evident in many posters minds.

I'm working on the premise that GM will win this dispute.
No one can see the full DHSC case, and if other companies experiences are to be taken into account, DHSC are much more likely to be in the wrong.
