Too much secrecy from the company regarding news of new product sales.
GM went quite, DA is also quiet, so the instigator must be James Wakefield.

He reads RNS's, he knows what the historical score is.
But he wants to change it into his business speak, thus generating something only he speaks.

We are not party to any news of note.
We have a number of new products with no visibility of where they are being sold and what price they are fetching.
As for the new LFT's that Mandy assures me are now available, where is the official acknowledgement of what they test for, or even what sample type they us?.
Where is sales news of CO-Prep?
I could go on, but buy now you've got my drift.

How are we to see any improvement in sp if the status quo exists in future, regardless of how future sales improve?

GM started off advising all quick wins in Spring 2020, but news stopped when we were advised that NCYT should only be advising the bigger contracts.

DA says no more now than GM did before he left, so for me JW is the instigator in this silence.

Not seeing an improvement until sales news is available.
Why go to the trouble of performing so much research about the products medics want, if the target is missed and nobody buys our new products.

DA is doing the right things in developing a non-Covid product catalogue, but where is the proof of sales, showing that target markets have been found?

A7 "The surveillance capability we have is largely deployed to ensure our Covid portfolio is current and relevant for all variants of concern. Since day one our follow up with the ORF1ab targets and other targets chosen by that team remain relevant for all variants of concern including Omicron. From a specific Bio-Surveillance point of view, that is the strength of this company and we’ve got a great design team. They are also freshening up the Primers and Probes for the multi-pathogens we can cover in the research use portfolio to ensure they are current and relevant, but I guess the broader question being asked is around general surveillance for outbreaks. What we are going to be doing is putting together in a systematic way, a method of scanning through internet based algorithms, media, social media, also scanning for third parties who focus on this, they are large organisations around the world who do this very work so that we are on the front foot of hearing about outbreaks and issues. Whether we respond to them all is a matter of judgement and we will install a Cobra like taskforce mentality, in that if something is significant and we need to move quickly, we will have the internal wherewithal to consider those as the company proudly has done with Covid. Those companies not operating a Bio surveillance capability will be significantly disadvantaged,
essentially they are flying blind.
It's almost enough to make them consider buying the company..

That's what automating the Bioinformatics process buys you I think!

Novacyt employees (and everyone else) uses the data held on the GISAID database, that many countries freely contribute to.
It is what individual companies do with that data that is the point.
Novacyt acts when a test no longer is capable as being as accurate as possible, because the data collected proves that Novacyt's test needs an update.
That is why the flu test changes every year, and why Winterplex, which includes flu A+B, is updated yearly, guided by the data on the database.
So when improvements are due Novact produces an improved test.

Those test manufacturers without a Genomic Sequencing facility are nor among those who customers deal with, who want test updates available ASAP.

We are the only company using Genomic sequencing to develop a better test for a shifting set of goal posts.
When sequencers say it's time for a test that more completely meets the need, due to new variants appearing,
then and only then do we produce an improved product.
As Kaeren said, it's automated, I didn't realise it was automated for many of our assays.

The use of Genomic sequencing in this regard by Novacyt is unique, and is an excellent selling point for customers who want the most up to date assay for specific virus variants.
They don't have a nasty shock when they realise they have been using a test that is gradually going out of date.
That is the nature of our competitive edge.

FDA Expands Home Testing Guidelines for COVID Exposures

Today, the FDA issued new guidance on at-home COVID testing. It still recommends repeat testing after a negative result, but is also recommending that people who have no symptoms but think they have been exposed take three tests instead of two.

The new guidance says:

If a first or repeat test is positive, follow the CDC guidance on isolation and get medical care.

If the first test is negative and you have symptoms, test again 48 hours later. You may choose to test yet again 48 hours after the second test, and may also consider getting a laboratory molecular-based (PCR) test and seeking medical care.

If the first test is negative, you don’t have symptoms, but you believe you have been exposed, test again 48 hours later, then 48 hours after the second negative, for a total of at least three tests. After three negative tests, if you are concerned, the FDA suggests testing again at home, getting a PCR test, or getting medical advice.

Current guidelines from the CDC recommend testing at home right away if you get symptoms. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, it recommends testing at least 5 days after exposure – and if that test is negative, it says to consider testing again 1-2 days later.

Seems like these two passages indicate genome sequencing on many NCYT assay's, not just Monkeypox and a few others.

If true it is a key statement that puts our assays in a different league from other companies.

$852 / 150 tests = $5.68 / test. Well it sounds competitive.

Nothing unusual here except this statement:

They should provide a system where the cassettes are recycled, saving the NHS time and money.

With their backs to the wall in the next flu season Jonathan, 14 or 30 tests at a time might be more preferable for busy medics.

This particular entry on the list provided (sixth in list from top) is probably of interest to NCYT for Winterplex,
particularly as Novacyt has developed their own automated genomic sequencing team / equipment,
that is capable of updating the Flu A+B assay as regularly as needed.
