Although the DHSC does not claim that acquiring instruments at the contracted rate was too slow, The contract was signed on 27th September, and IT-IS was not acquired until 15th October 2020.

How much IT-IS instrumentation was not reaching its intended customer, and was being redirected to DHSC (toward the first phase 300 instrument total) in the first half of October is anyone's guess. It sounds like chaos.

Quite specific, IMO it was delivered.

If this is correct, the NHS had plenty of training available from Novacyt 'at the peak of the pandemic'.

I think you mean that Exsig Direct requires this process.

The use of Promate streamlined the process and DHSC (and everyone else) seem satisfied with that product.

DHSC have caused massive damage with this claim.
I would like to see NCYT give no quarter and hit them with the full response amount, - no reason not to.
Why negotiate with customers who don't know how to pay, don't know how to make a decent claim but do know how to hurt, both from a financial and reputational perspective.

We should be able to prove how affectiveness of the tests by showing the the repeat orders from satisfied customers the WHO and many other customers.
Perhaps the technicians from these customers were able to use the tests where the staff of the DHSC were not ( being kind).
I do remember we employed a lot of field staff and they presumably employed within the DHSC.

Are we being sued by any other customers. I think we all know the answers to that.

Interesting times ahead.

Was looking for an article by Tony Cooke last night Ventura . In the article he discusses how the NHS are very slow to adopt new technologies , I read it last year. Anyone got a copy , would like to reread after the information that surfaced yesterday. Thx

The companies also said that the government brought its claim on the basis of a series of "internal, inconsistent and incomplete draft reports, which were based on demonstrably inaccurate data collected across various NHS sites, apparently without reference to any validation protocol."

The government has denied that the reports were flawed, adding in its reply, dated Aug. 24 and filed the same day, that they followed internal protocols.

risehall1 ,the original plan was for the NHS staff to be tested on a regular basis using PCR and lamp tests, hence the large contract for Novacyt on 27/09/20 as part of this . Then just over six weeks later on 11/11/20 the government announced the initial roll out of twice weekly testing of NHS staff using lateral flow tests.As this roll went on the need for inhouse testing decreased which meant a drop in demand for lamp and PCR tests.
Oxford Nanopore are a good example of what went off as they were contracted to supply lamp tests ,only for the dhsc to cancel the contract. Earlier this year they were awarded £50 million for the termination of their contract

Well it would appear he is not alone. Perhaps your # Fuall Lth's was neither required and a bit premature. Oh dear , calm down. Those of us who hold are certainly more then pleased with todays news and most would concur that it appears that Novacyt do indeed have exceptionally strong grounds to assert their contractual rights. But on behalf of the LTH's who loaded up with more shares at this price , your efforts to drive the price down are appreciated. Have a lovely evening contemplating the news , I will.

Quite the contrary. I’ve just been catching up on here today and I think it’s great news. Nice 4/5% rise so far. Not taking much notice of that but what has been discussed today is encouraging.

WBAFC, I thought about your note to shorter. Whom else does it benefit when they make a gain, or a loss. I assume the "lender" makes a slice either way. Actual holders lose if they sell before sp rises above start of short. Do we gain if it rises directly and the short is scrubbed early-doors? Seems sense, any advice or confirmation.

Over 3y ago I held quite a bit ezj. It had fallen (no good reason, well pre-covid) to the point where it had to be ejected from ftse100 (I think, not 250). So all the tracker managers sold out; it fell £1 or more, we bought a load; 6m later it had risen enough for readmission, they all bought in, up again, huge free profit. Truly markets are funny things. (Since covid its much lower but that's another song.)

As an aggrieved shareholder I would dearly love to sue the DHSC. It just looks to me as if the DHSC have just looked for any reason they can to terminate the contract screwing Novacyt over in favour of buying in cheap Chinese made lft tests.

All the angst and genuine concern by all holders , hopefully these facts allay some of those fears and we can commence BAU without this millstone being the sole focus.
