The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Not usually one to respond to the likes of TMS as filtered but just to reinforce dancingfred's post about WK I copy the first line of the RNS announcement:
'Eurasia Mining Plc ("Eurasia" or the "Company"), the palladium, platinum, rhodium, iridium and gold producing company'
All of these very valuable metals are being produced at WK for the 100% benefit of EUA and its shareholders.
With the sequential commissioning of the two new washplants production values will have grown over the year.
Looking forward to seeing by how much.
candc - Perhaps I misunderstood your point and should have said that I agree with your view on efficient market hypothesis.
As an example of a sentiment driven share Nikola is actually a good choice.
Whilst it was hailed as a rival to Tesla the stock price was buoyant, as you say, but when the fraud was exposed sentiment collapsed as did the SP.
If that was your point then I didn't get it first time around.
Your reference to Nikola is misleading as it was initially hailed as a possible rival to Tesla in the electric truck market.
However, as you should know, there was a massive fraud involved as the trucks displayed had no powerplants.
A promo video shows a truck moving but it's only rolling down a gradient.
Adding my condolences to JTM's family and friends.
I will miss his informative posts and his banter.
The board will miss it's resident Lobster Pot Inspector's daily updates.
I hadn't envisaged adding to my holding as I already have a great deal, for me, invested but I added 3068 earlier this afternoon.
Hoping for a favourable update in the coming days so I can help my daughter buy her ex-husband's share of their house.
Panderman, Newbie - What you say about the weather in the region is correct for MT and partly correct for WK. WK is in the Urals and not within the Arctic Circle so there is no permafrost. The winter temperatures do go way below freezing so, as you say, the wash plants can't be used until the spring thaw.
However, from memory - someone else (mac?) may be able to find the relevant RNS/reference - I believe that the plan is to continue mining the loose ore as much as possible through the winter and stockpile it. Running it through the washplants after the thaw.
Running the operation over winter with the electric drag line would justify the costs of installing the drag line as well as maintain EUA's ESG credentials.
All good to my mind and maybe a hint towards keeping WK as a going concern, or, window dressing EUA's capability to get a successful mine up and running to keep potential buyers, current and future, on their toes.
Not clear if the new electric dragline is bought yet but I would imagine that the new electricity supply needs to be in place before the it can be used.
I'd imagine they (or, if sold, the new owners) would like it in place at the beginning of next year's mining season.
Having said that there has been mention of a plan, following the issue of the mining licence, to strip and stockpile paydirt during the winter months to process through the three washplants after the thaw.
If so WK would hit the ground running in 2022.
I don't know what Wolfe is posting as filtered but from all the replies it's obvious that his objective today is to hijack this thread with a view to clogging up the board or getting the thread taken down.
Sad to see so many well meaning posters reacting to him and helping him achieve his objective.
In the spirit of camaraderie I offer my thanks to all the posters who continually update the price of kippers.
It's valuable information deducing the shenanigans of the fish market and highlights the filleting of the share price into pieces deemed favourable by the wholesalers creaming off the best of this most valuable catch.
It is a shame for them that we who fish with a rod and line have already got our hooks in and, as a collective, they can't shake us off, despite the release of sharks and other rabid wild animals in a pathetic attempt to frighten us or wear us down.
The price of kippers ensures that we are upbeat about our landing on our treasure island, though I think the island needs to be bigger to hold the ever increasing treasure.
Maytal - my consideration to your question is that it the JORC would not need formal approval from the Russian state as it is a stipulated requirement by Rosgeo to enable EUA to buy the last 25%.
The value and facilitation offered by the Rosgeo JV really should not be underestimated.
Negotiations for the underground mines, possibly.
Not all of the Rosgeo licences apply to open pit sites so if EUA is in negotiations with deep mining specialists then it strengthens their position to show that, if necessary, the can raise the funds with relative ease.
