Covid was by design as it was manufactured but it was released by accident. There is no one in control of all of this, unfortunately most world events are just chaos and complete disorder. Its comforting and so we like to think we or ( they ) or even God are controlling it all but alas we are not.

Plenty of wiggle room for a player like Harbour here, I suspect this was known this morning hence why we saw 439p on open. I also suspect those in the know were responsible for the 100,000 and 200,000 share trades here today before Rishi's announcement. I also noticed 3 large trades on Enquest yesterday 1m 600k and 500k, most probably all sells after they got the insider scoop from gov. Needs to be investigated by the FCA if you ask me.

I don't think its been made clear if the 90% tax relief will be on North Sea or just Green initiatives ?

Its possible the windfall tax on extra profits will be just lip service. Shell and BP have announced multi billion $ losses as a result of severing ties with Russia, ENQ and HBR have their N.Sea tax losses. So just how does Fishy No-tax propose to make a charge to these companies.
There was also mention of being able to circumvent additional tax by spending on Green projects. I think al of the above oil and gas companies are doing that, including Harbour with V. Net Zero and Acorn carbon capture projects.

If you sell half to bank profits you still gain from further upside and have the cash to buy back in if the investment situation changes ( EU oil embargo for instance )

Agree entirely, I even mentioned $100m as a possible figure yesterday, the gov I think will want to be seen as doing something but I suspect it will be a damp squib in terms of negative effect on HBR. Anyone old enough to remember Geoffrey Howes North Sea tax ? Sauerkraut ? Thats the one thats still in effect am I correct ?
