According to analysts, cash-rich private equity firms are cherry-picking bargains on the stock market, as the number of buyouts of UK PLCs this year has already reached its third-highest annual volume in 10 years.

Nicholas Moura, research analyst for EMEA capital markets at data provider Pitchbook, which is owned by Morningstar Inc, said private equity firms are busy “sweeping” up listed companies at cheaper valuations.

The net short position in oil should mean we will see a violent upswing if the Geo political situation warrants this.

They have been shorting oil pre- US election and most likely pre oil price spike after either something more kicks off in the Middle East or Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz or Russian oil gets properly sanctioned and also to re-fill the SPR for national security and of course profit.

Look at the big drops on oil at 10am US time.

I was listening for a hint of anything upbeat although the subject matter of Starmer talking down the UK was dismal. He did bang the usual drum of emerging markets to out perform, which I guess is the ethos of SFOR. Although everyone touts the revenge motive for setting up SFOR, it looks like he has cherry picked ideas from WPP ( they wanted to buy Media Monks too ) ie pure digital, focus on emerging markets, focus on big tech and now on AI
