The group remains the largest single operator of crematoria. Profit in 2016 37.6 million which an increase of of 9 % per annum.
49,000 funeral plans were sold in 2016
The Trusts held over 860 million of assets
Next they will be opening their own crematoria and investing 860 million they've collected in pre paid plan funds.
Economies of scale will put far more pressure on the smaller operator than the heavyweights.
This should be over a tenner soon enough.
Hi guys this is from Cairn Energy's full year report out today.
Resources & Reserves
A total of 53.8 mmboe booked as 2P reserves (an increase from 51.5 mmboe in 2016 following reserves upgrade on Catcher)
French Connections looking good today up 24% on announcement of a 2.3m loss for 2017 I wonder what the rise would be if they announced they made 50+ million profit as forecast here.
I know I'm comparing apples and oranges here but Fevertree have just made a record 59 million profit market cap 2.9 Billion ( was over 3 billion yesterday ) Debenhams has already made 59 milllion in profit and more in previous years current market cap 0.32 Billion
Its a funny old world
Mulder,
Take out a whacking great short ...knock the share price down, other shorters join in for a piece of the action... knocks the share price down further... stop losses triggered, add some panic selling, chart shows clear decending trend. 200 DMA to below 40. Share price in the 20s if a take over offer comes in at 50ish its likely to be accepted when the previous share price was firmly 55 to 60+
DOGOSSINBRAZIL,
Correct he bought into Game Digital quite heavily in the 20s it touched 63 not long after worth a look IMHO.
I'm also interested in Odeys whopping 5.1% short here I know he is a large Sports Direct shareholder so should be privvy to a bit more info than we have. Long Sports Direct and short Deb are the two things linked I wonder ?
ADENDJO,
Whilst I am long here and think it will come good I have to agree with Metamorphosis, all your portfolio in one high risk stock ?? This is never a good strategy please have a real in depth think about this and some of the possible worst case scenarios if your still happy then ok its your choice.
If a pro ever found themselves if your situation I suspect they would sell half giving them at least some options whatever the outcome.
Manofleisure,
I think its just the algobots slamming down the bid so the shorts can make an orderly exit which they seem to be doing, I hope to see them continue to all but exit their positions then this computer driven shorting behavior should stop and we can begin the slow recovery.
TLWilliams, You will get no argument from me regarding the boards conduct although I will say its not unique, I believe WPP and Persimmons CEO have both awarded themselves 75M in pay and benefits. Hopefully some of our new holders will get rid of them soon.
Liam Rowley, Sports Direct's head of strategic investments, instead would only speak about a corporate partnership: "We see huge value for both companies in a strategic partnership between Debenhams and Sports Direct.
"There are obvious synergies that can be achieved through the integration of our respective web operations. We also see opportunities to work together internationally.
"Importantly, there is scope for greater collaboration in the UK in order to roll out an elevated offering to consumers. We believe Sports Direct can complement Debenhams very well across the spectrum."
bandit1,
What he means is he has a short here that is the value of a house. There was a lot of hedge fund activity here in October. I should think he has bit of experience but hes probably quite low down in the hedge fund. A few negative articles in the papers, the algobots and some people to spread dissent on the investment boards helps them cover. There is one on advfn too who keeps posting incessantly that tomorrow is the end etc etc.
In the mean time this is the situation as stated in the last RNS re the lenders.
Interserve is pleased to announce that it has secured additional short-term committed funding for the Group. In addition, we have reached an agreement to defer the test date for compliance with our loan covenants to 31 March 2018. This provides a platform for continued constructive discussions with the Group's lenders, with a view to securing its longer-term funding.
The additional facilities totalling 180m comprise a 38m committed revolving credit facility, 37m of committed ancillary facilities, committed bonding facilities of 93m plus 12m of additional funding available by agreement with the lenders. The facilities expire on 30 March 2018.
f15jcm,
If thats what you've done then well done my friend only one problem with that story is that you won't have been offered 125p as a short spreadbet as that was the trade high and there is always a margin. Unless your talking about early Sept 17 that is in which case you could have closed out 3 days later with a lot more profit than 4k
Theres been a lot of volume here over the last 3 days on no news.
Today buys 2,742,262 V sells 1,192,152
Tues buys 3,446,038 V sells 2,721,866
Mon buys 2,258,075 V sells 1,901,423
Yes that makes 19.46% in new holdings since the trading update.
The story about Mccolls linked Klarus capital to Lithuanias richest man.
" Numavicius' family office Talka LT said the 9.9-percent stake in McColls were purchased by UK company Klarus Capital Limited linked with Numavicius. "
