The API is a guess anyway, sometimes the market takes zero notice of it. Besides this has just dropped 25% so I don't think API or EIA are driving the price here. Now thats the naked truth my friend.

The heavy oil discount to Brent is now very small just a few bucks, it depends on the sulphur content for a bigger discount. It needs to be 0.5% max
Even the high sulphur stuff can be cleaned I believe. But obviously much higher cost so bigger discount to Brent.

Same manipulation on Premier Oil, which is widely believed to be Goldman due to the high frequency of TR1s over there.

I think we need a chartered accountant to answer that one. My take would be its included in break even but not included in Opex and Capex.
Paying 15% interest on the loan to Premier Oil should keep the taxable profits down for some years.
