No because their will be too much stock available to close shorts with. Beside you could argue its already happened in the form of a 100%+ rise.

I was reading last night that JPM could hold $900+million of physical silver.

I also read those Robinhood types think they can push Silver to $1000 an Oz

Agreed sometimes shorting is used to acquire a company on the cheap. Like Premier Oil

Can we just agree shorting is okay but the methods of some shorters at present are not ?

Its probably all just a big distraction as we are actually running out of Oil and Gas and then we are all fooked !
Re the arbitration I don't know for sure but I think Italy cannot now just offer to settle as its with the arbitrators, its too late and its does rather look like they were in the wrong so judgement will be against them.

BlackRock now at 3.10% thats net short meaning if they hold any stock you need to add it on to that borrow.
They have been reducing nothing more nothing less. They were short 1.8% when the share price was 350. We know they sold that much because they were net short. We also knew at end Nov 20 stock on loan here was 11.92% then at end Dec20 it was down to 11.2%.
I think you stated end Jan you expect the figure to be higher.

I should add when BlackRock borrowed stock at 350p+ you can be damn sure they sold it straight to market and didn't hang on to it to trade with.

In that case we are talking at cross purposes and what you are referring to is only a marginal amount of shorted stock which the algos/ traders might play with under 0.2% at the end of each day. You seem to think the shorters have it all under control at all times. What about buy side traders and their algos. Tosca for example ? If someone wins someone has to loose !

Not sure I am buying the reddit story its fundementals for the PMs especially silver.

Silver has just jumped up a dollar.. Look at HOC as a geared silver play !

I'm not sure we can 'cross read' too much from the Cairn India arbitration. $1.2billion + interest vs lets say one tenth of that $120m+ interest. Its less of a big deal for Italy ( and they have changed the law to prevent further cases )
