RE: Action10 Dec 2020 21:27
As I keep being told by old dinosaurs on this site I know nothing.
But I do read a lot & am keen to learn a bit a company my hard earned is invested in.
As far as I can work out, lots of BT’s business is now focused on providing a service a support contract for another company. I think this makes them very, very vulnerable, it’s no longer about networks freezes or equipment left to run, it’s about delivering everyday towards contracted services for third parties
One wiff of a strike getting in the way of other business models, belonging to other companies & they are going to squeeze BT until their pips squeak.......I can’t see how BT will be able to deal with a protracted dispute?
That doesn’t mean I agree with industrial action, BT management are not (far as I can see) doing a number in Ts&C’s from what I read, although less for some, it’s an improvement for others & I have to say still better than most U.K. workers could hope for. I think industrial action should be for the worst of employer excess, this doesn’t sound like that to me.
BT needs to change, jobs need to go, a decent severance seems fair enough, it’s not exactly statutory minimum (which for this company I think I would support )
