Hey Mather - others on here are right I think. City and services negotiations could be key. Some articles Ive read say London is still very powerful, I don’t know if that’s true, but might mean EU negotiators will want a quick agreement to keep everything stable.

I assume BT SP is being adversely affected by worries around U.K. economy rather than primary trade concerns. Although I’m guessing data sharing and rules like that between 3rd countries & EU could impact BT? But I’m not sure how yet?

You also had it explained to you that the UK’s deal with japan has very little change to the one we already had, except the U.K. has agreed to far tighter rules on state aid than anything the EU would agree to, or expect from other member states.

The actual EU site makes it clear taxation is a matter for member states. They have an ongoing difference around Apple in particular but that’s part of a wider arrangement to stop big American internet companies not paying the right tax

I’ve also talked about the Irish border, where it’s not harder to do business internally, requiring all kinds of checks, red tape and policing, making trade within the U.K. internal market harder
