Not such a good day today. Oil price tumbling has not helped the sell off in this. This always troubles me a bit as Wood has diversified so much away from oil in the last couple of years but they are still seen as an oil services company. They are more an energy and infrastructure company these days. On the plus side the shorts have reduced a bit over the last few days

Was expecting this to slide significantly today but as you say it came out really well considering the wider market blood bath

provider WG.L to "market perform" from "outperform" and cuts
target price to 270p from 320p"

Management takes a slaming in the statement on this revision from Bernstein.

Short interest increased yesterday

Spoke too soon on teh swings - this is going down day after day at the moment - below 200p today is a distinct possibility and could head to 185p before long

Huge daily swings seemed to have stopped lately which is good and the shorts are considerably lower but it just doesnt seem to hold up. They have their mid year results middle of August so I'll probably hold on until then and see what they present. I'll also be interested in what they say about reinstating the dividend given teh final dividend for 2019 was withdrawn (for good reason) until they assessed the impact of Covid.

Yeah. A few things influenced I think

1. General market movement
2. oil price
3. Downtick in shorts over the last few days
4. Broker "overweight" and 400p price target a few days ago

Not seeing the large swings in this one which were apparent a few weeks back but who knows.

Yeah. I expect we will see it bounce around this until 6 month update in mid August unless some other news comes along.

I think I've had enough of this one. It's just not cutting it.

Lately this one always seems to track higher at the open then fall away during the day.

Latest contract wins have been non oil and gas related predominantly but market sentiment is still seeing this as oil and gas services company hence the moves are influenced heavily by the oil price. Unfortunately "Energy" in any company listing is going to be volatile in today's market!
I am a little surprised the shorts are still at 3.9%. Move,ent from 9% is of course welcome but it seems to have flattened.

This site never seesm to update later on in theday for some reason. Cut some of the losses later on in the day but caught up in the general news going the rounds and the Shell announcement and oil losing ground. I'm still of the opinion this one will just bounce around until teh half year results come in August.
Blackrock buying is i suppose welcome but really light trading at the moment.

I think this one is going to keep dropping until we get the 6 month results in August. Always seems to go down more than the general market every time.

Agree on the shorts - they seemed to be moving out until recently but that has stalled of late

The BoD “regular buys”are simply awards which are part of incentive program - not real buying

This one is really confusing me. Couple of broker updates to target price today and still this one drops by over 7% on the back of rising crude price. It just cant seem to hold any of the recent gains with large swings back on a daily basis

Huge selling (£18M) today according to this site. Cant remember ever seeing that volume. Donmt know what it means however for opening on Monday!

I wasn’t in a rush. I agree it seems like the detail is being digested and drowning out some of the headlines. In these time what with the virus and the oil price I think Wood is in an OK position.
Would still like to see some of the high swings up and down go away.

You are definately not the only one scratching his/her head on this one.
Benn volatile with large swings up and down for a long time now although just recently it seems to be moving more in line with peers.
Part of the problem is who is seen aa "peers" i think. The company has been diversifying now for over two years and is buidling in more resilience to swings in the oil price and recent contract awards reflect this change in portfolio nicely but the are still seen by many as an oil and gas services company.
I've been in this one for a long long time with a sizeable holding but really for the dividend. Now that is gone I am really starting to consider better places for my money
