This is good - hopefully the last of the "toxic" parts of two major acquisitions in a relatively short period of time. Wood now need to concentrate on their diversification and building their new business model. Lay off major acquisitions. They have the basics in place which they now need to consolidate and improve.
Im not so sure their numbers today will move the share price in the right direction though

Nothing too exciting in all this and not seeing anything about potential to restore dividend in 2021 - aw well it was an outside hope really!

Moving with the oil price is always an issue but as I have said before Wood has very much adjusted away from reliance on the oil and gas industry and will continue to do so.
PFC’s release definitely killed it but it may be good news for Wood as they compete in that space.

Dropped off a cliff at around 2 o’clock today - again!

Should have added - I will also be keenly interested in any indication of a dividend return albeit i dont expect any immediate return to pre Covid levels and I think thats prudent.

I think all brokers will be focussing on forward order book. The Trading Update in January was not perticularly good in that respect and thats what obviosly sparked Jeffries downgrade. I was a bit surprised by it so interested in seeing what, if anything, has changed in this respect.
Also interested to see buys/sells today in the lead up to the results.

Yet anither day where it cant hold onto the early gains

5 year extension to Iraq EPC contract announced but that wouldn't, on its own, move it this much I dont think.

Interesting strategy. I was a long time Wood employee (over 30 years) until I retired and have a large holding. Having retired I am really not looking to buy and sell regularly but may have to reconsider that going forward as the suspension of what was a relatively good dividend has obviously changed my thinking.
Last few days have been good but they have their annual accounts middle of this month and I'll be looking for any indication of a reinstatement of at least some of the dividend going forward.

US markets taking it down - again!

Having said all that I am cautious of such extreme moves in this one - over the last three months or so it has quickly corrected from any large moves such as these

I also cant figure this rise. Im not seeing anything to support it but i'll take it. Petrofac also showing good movement today so amybe its just the oil price.
This one has been hammered over the last year so maybe the stars are just aligning for it.

In my opinion the strength of the pound killed the price on Friday while the oil price helped it today. Still seems to be too heavily influenced by the oil price given the diversification they have been going through. It’s a strange market at the moment with apparent “ no news” having the ability to initiate large swings.

Id be happy if i thought 350 was acheivable in the shortish term but i just see this bouncing around the 300 mark and i need to consider the dividend which they removed and im not convinced it is going to come back. The trading update was in teh ballpark of analyst updates for 2020 but thats on the back of not paying a sizeable dividend and the sale of the nuclear business. Without these the results would i suspect would be well short of market/analyst expectations.
Long term i think teh strategy will pan out for the company but im "losing" a lot of dividend given teh size of my holding.

As always just a personal view which is of course based on personal circumstances.

Id like to hang until 350 but not so sure thats coming anytime soon. The lack of a dividend or any indication it will be restored is a major considertation in my thinking.

Shorts keep going down with Shorttracker now showing 0.9% but still this keeps dropping. Time to sell this and secure a dividend elsewhere I think

Never seems to keep momentum when it starts off well in the morning. Broker rating (Goldman) at target of 262p may have also taken the steam out of it although that was an increase from their previous price target!!

Two large trades at just over £3 in after market according to LSE but not sure if buy or sell and not experienced enough to know if it means anything at all :)

Certainly understand the pain piece but not sure I have the patience. I was in this for dividend but that’s gone for 2020 and not so sure if it will be reinstated even at a reduced level in 2021.
