I had the same thought this morning. Oil price on a roll and this is not moving the same way. May just be profit taking as yesterday was a good gain although i suspect its niot going to move much in either direction until the pre closing update later this month

I wish I was smart enough to know what all that means. I understand the concept of algo trading but not how that links to teh information in teh charts you referenced :)

I subscribe to Wood notifications - as a shareholder and former long term employee i am inetrested in where everything is going since i left.

Totally agree on teh Chinese piece. I was in Angola a number of years ago and the investments being made by China was huge. Chinese workers brought in and sleeping on job sites was common. There of course has to be payback for all this at some point in time .

I agree the market "should" be aware of these but, as i said on an earlier post, im still unsure why these only appear on the company website news page and not more widely communicated? Also interesting there are no metrics (revenue etc.) stated in any of these news stories.

Three awards of late (since 25th May) but again only seem to be on company news rather than issued to the market
1. Wood supports the delivery of world-scale blue ammonia production facility
2. Wood awarded early design for floating offshore wind project in Ireland
3. Wood grows U.S. power operations with new contract in Kentucky

Significantly these are outwith the oil and gas sector.

They are not director "buys" - they are awards/share option purchases

What am I missing? I’m not seeing lots of buys here. RNS is selling of shares as far as I can tell and the other RNS is directors awards

I agree a takeover is unlikely. Size is one consideration but, even with the rationalisation following AFW acquisition, this is still a pretty complex company. I also believe Wood are very good at harnessing synergies and adapting overheads to market conditions so little for a potential buyer to find in there.

I noticed the large buying volume today - not experienced enough tio know what that means other than buyers believe they are going to make money at this level. Seems to go against the latest increase in shorting by AKO but as we have discussed on this board many times brokers dont really have the individual investors interest at heart.

Anyway - tomorrow is another day!!

Im a long time holder of this one but cant get my head around the share price movement of late.
Transitioning from an oil and gas service company into renewables and infrastructure is not something which will happen overnight for Wood and market conditions with oil price and Covid have not helped them on that journey.
Share price is a little less linked to oil price as of late but they are still seen as oil and gas services.
I believe their margins should improve as more and more of their portfolio moves to consultancy type work.
Debt is a concern. They have suspended dividend and thats not good as no indication it will be restored and even if it is its going to be at a much lower level than previously. The lack of dividend will perhaps help pay down debt.
I'm holding in with them but carefully watching their pre close update which is due 24th June.

As always just another individuals view!!

You may be right about the price sensititivity on some of these but cant believe they all fall under that category. My thought is they may be enabling type agreements/JV's which do not, due to their nature, have a predetermined value.

This was the point I made in a post a few days ago. On the same day they announced a partnership with the UN to improve water resilience in Granada - again only on website. I have no idea why these would not be more widely communicated.

Jeffries cuts target to 230 and underperform. Crazy drive down this afternoon after a fairly robust move up in the morning.

Lots of selling after the close today. Don’t know why or impact on opening tomorrow.

I’m on the fence about where this will head over the next few months before they give an update. However I feel they need to get some major high value high profile contract awards before any major move to the upside

Wood posted a contract win on their website on the 12th May. 3 year EPC with BP in Australia. Don’t know why they are not “announcing” these wins more widely. I assume this is included in their backlog announced through the AGM release. There have been a few recently although some are JV’s and strategic alliances. None however seem to give any indication of the revenue associated with them.

AGM Statement today is nothing spectacular at first glance. Order book is up but only by 9% which i find a little disappointing. They are forecasting modest margin growth driven largely by consultancy business which they expect to offset lower activity and margins in the project works.

I wouldnt hold my breath for info on dividend at AGM. If any movement its likely to be signalled with half year results rather than AGM

I appreciate your take on this. I have a large holding but unlike you I am not getting in and out regularly. Last sell was at the 305 mark and unlike you I am not confident of a move to the 500p in teh next few years unless they come in with some big contract wins. latest press releases are good headliners but thats it (JV's, alliances etc.) - no indication of any bookable/potential revenue through them. The oil price is not having the same effect on this share as it used to have and thats partly through the success of their diversification so significant movements here are unlikely to have the impact they used to have.

I noted your comment on the dividend resuming - where did you get this info? I would be surprised (but happy!) if they reinstate the dividend this year. They have an opportunity to use it more wisely (debt reduction etc.)

Im really just trying to understand the upbeat views being expressed here when my research is not aligning with them.

Not seeing this going up to 300. Its back to the old ways - market up, oil up, Wood down. Interested in why posters on this site think 300/350 is soon.

We need more upbeat news on sizeable contract wins before this does anything other than bounce up and down around the current levels of 270/280.
