Asian markets up led by China, US Dow recovered more than 500 points and US expected to open up later today. My guess is we will be blue today.

New York just reversed 500 points.... if they finish +ve my guess is we will see a blue sp tomorrow and could see our sp track US market as a lagging indicator. To see where we may end up folk should keep a keen eye on the US market and Fed news and ignore the one post charlatans on here. Best off googling Bloomberg...We must get the bonds away.

Let’s hope so. This would have been all mapped out months ago with tolerances factored in, I am hoping it was ‘just’ a case of we picked the worst week in the past 10yrs to promote a junk bond....

I too am no expert 15 but from what I’ve read the worlds cash is moving to gilts gold and government bonds, ultra safe....the yields on these are dropping. I don’t really think it’s the yield on our bonds that’s the issue (within reason) . One of the first indicators of a recession is the shunning of Junk bonds.... which is what was starting to happen this past week. China n Trump start to make up and the possibility of a recession subsides then happy days... but WTFDIK .... here’s hoping

Finger, the flight is to low yield bonds and away from high yield.... the lowering of yields is not a good indicator... ironically

Fred, the bond market has been in turmoil this past week. Flight to low yield, even negative yield which are rock solid safe but away from high yield higher risk. Good see US stocks stabilising and rising as I type. Hopefully markets will continue to calm...

Avocet, it is not the government responsibility to prop up shareholders. This mine will get built and the area will prosper. The BIG question is at what cost to the PI. Carillion and the steel industry have nothing in common with this situation.

BBC on it... reporting Sirius 25% slump and that we need the £410m bond to unlock a £20.5B credit facility.....

Nice sobering post GK! My understanding was that yields were dropping in the global bond market therefore it surprises me we cannot shift ours. Hope you are right wrt to JPM extending out....

And why should tax payers money be put at risk. This mine will get built and if the bonds don’t go expect an equity raise.....I don’t worry it will get built but years back I had worst case 10B shares... this could double..

What we can all agree on is that the RNS is bloody short on detail for what is a monumental piece of news... rushed???

We have suspended due to unfavourable market conditions which is code for no one wants the bonds. Yes the mine will be built but CF as a finance man is making a Horlick of this. $500m equity raise possibly coming. Jeeeeeez.
