Bloody hysteria… shame there are a many people that hide under the bed covers whilst selling all there stock. To calm everyone down below the doomed headlines.:
The pharmaceuticals manufacturer Novavax has begun work on a new version of its Covid-19 vaccine, aimed at targeting the Omicron variant. It says it hopes the vaccine will be ready for testing and manufacturing within a matter of weeks.
Other vaccine companies have also been optimistic about their ability to counter any potential new challenges posed by the variant.
BioNTech says it could produce and ship an updated version of its vaccine within 100 days if the new Covid variant detected in southern Africa is found to evade existing immunity.
And AstraZeneca says it is already conducting research in Botswana and Eswatini, where the variant has been identified, to collect real-world data on how its shot performs against the new variant.
Moderna has also said it will develop a booster shot for the new variant.
Had my fingers burnt twice now…. We’re back at levels see. only a couple of years ago. Do you think Avon Rubber is in better shape and direction? Can’t help thinking there’s further to go until confidence returns….
Published on simply wall st today… old news but better than no news

“we trust management to get on with developing the irons that we have in the various fires.”
…surely you mean making bread in an economical A+ Rated electric oven, powered by an economically friendly wind turbine with zero carbon footprint. Let’s not give fellow investors anything else to panic over :-))
I have just over 42k invested in this, my whole portfolio is down today…. many others on here have a lot more than me. My position is the same and just gonna ride it out…. No pun intended. Great company….
I’m heavily invested here. The YTD SP is quite reasonable. As mentioned by others on here countless times It’s simply drifting with the stock market sentiment / consumer confidence. NEX is not much different, or actually better, when compared with other companies within the same sector…
Go to yahoo finance and compare a few YTD trends with say stagecoach, IAG etc if you wish…. However,
NEX is the same good company as it was before, no news to say otherwise, the bus I was on last week was packed and the recent cost cutting exercise will make it much stronger and competitive when it crosses the bridge to more sunnier times…
One of the better travel stocks in my opinion. I can’t see any evidence to support people’s negativity.
Good financial position
No shareholder dilution
Great price and not overvalued
Good market cap and strong past business performance / future potential growth
Handled pandemic well - much better than other travel sectors.
All stocks are a gamble, but I’ll put a few more k into this…I’ve lost more at a Vegas table ??.
Just my opinion. Do your own research etc etc
Can’t edit…. Also to add
“The Board anticipates that rising sales of Accrufer® in the US should result in the Company’s monthly cash flow turning positive between 15-18 months AFTER the initial launch as well as hold the potential for net sales to reach $100 million in the third year after launch. “
Leem - do you do any research before investing? This was very much to be expected in April, albeit a few tweaks. No plans are perfect but the direction remains the same.

Specifically:
“shareholders approved an equity fundraise which raised £27.8 m net of expenses and as a result, the Group's unaudited cash balance as at 31 March 2021 stood at £28.2m which the Group plans to utilise to launch Accrufer® in the US during the second quarter of 2021.? “
And
“Shield said it will also incur the costs of the main stage of the paediatric study which is expected to start in mid-2021 and last for 2-2½ years and cost c.£4.5m over that time. “
I’m topping up as soon as it drops into the 30’s. This remains a bargain.
Life decisions… do I take my losses now and invest elsewhere or hold fire for a couple of years lol. Although firmly believe both scenarios will probably work out…. eventually. AVON is still a good company.
