Whether Solar was mentioned in this particular interview or to Thornback is completely irrelevant. TG has mentioned its part in the project several times before and it it seems an entirely sensible and efficient way to go. Mott MacDonald are experienced in hybrid projects, they have environmental approval for 20MW of solar, 15 year generating license to include solar and nearly 10000km2 of land! Once hooked-up what bloody difference does being 100km from Serowe make? My question would be why on earth wouldn't they implement it?

MM clearly TG sees the first phase being highly significant, not only to the overall project but also to the valuation of the company. As you say he states $6-10m then $20m for the expansion phase. However, very interestingly he indicates on a couple of occasions that the cost to shareholders will be less for the second phase. He wants a supportive long-term financier and quite rightly expects the MC to progressed substantially when that expansion phase begins.

The main reason for the increased interest imo is the confirmation that G&A costs are covered for the next 12/18 months. This will give people more confidence in taking a position pre-funding announcement. Once in place the situation here will change significantly. As I've said before, and TG reiterated in his interview, the hook-up to the grid is the main show now. Once funded the endgame is in sight. GLA

I guess it works the same way as a pump and dump where nobody actually mentions Tlou on social media nor message boards, in order to spike the SP to raise funds - despite TG saying in his last interview that they had enough for M&A expenses to beyond the end of next year. Hopefully the reality of the hook-up happening, the derisked status and all the paperwork in place for expansion means the for sale sign being put up
