RE: fdbk29 Sep 2019 21:23
I've seen this stated elsewhere and asked myself why? StoneChecker uses the TexRad algorithm but I have no idea what the terms of that license are and what it means to Feedback; and judging by their RNS neither do FDBK. Nor do I know how much it cost/is costing IQAI. If someone has any more details please let me know, as I've come up with very little.
What I do know however is that StoneChecker took that algorithm, originally developed for oncology, and secured the exclusive rights to use it in the highly lucrative urolithiasis field. They have identified a large market, now secured worldwide approval, partnered with a large successful distributor and it supplements and enhances IBs existing suite of products. It's not clear to me how this benefits FDBK which, according to their prospectus, already has their algorithm 'featured in over 100 academic publications, won numerous awards and is currently used in over 50 prestigious institutions worldwide' - and is surely already recognised. I thought a good analogy was that many computer games have been developed on the Unreal Engine - some were very successful but loads weren't; this is a winner I think
All that said I wish all investors their well and if FDBK's board do find a contractual correlation that means they benefit from StoneChecker's future success I'll be more that happy to join them; they seemed unsure atm though GLA
