MFU, I must admit to struggling to understand the reasoning for turning down the 5% only to go after the 30%. The former was guaranteed and the latter is much a more risky move.

That said, the likes of JPM will undoubtedly have an exit strategy that will revolve around a known news event, or should I say known to them. They won’t swim against the tide for no reason.

Understanding the reason for the short is the key thing here.

In my view it’s targeted suppression rather than the usual rinse and repeat. So, is bad news on the horizon,very unlikely, especially once finance is sorted. So why the gamble on their part? Unless they are working on behalf of NCM or another. Added to that we could strike a new find at any point in our exploration drilling.
If the odds seem stacked against the shorters, then why continue to short up to this point if not acting for some other entity.
I expect the games will continue until FS, but the question still remains if NCM will play fair with it and will NCM treat us as a future mining partner.

It’s been asked many times and the answers always seem ambiguous, is it possible for anyone to accumulate shares behind the scenes and delay notification until they’ve finished?

SD is doing a great job and whether he has 1 share or 10 million shares it will have no effect on the share price.

Taverham, everyone was so sure that NCM chose to go quiet during 5% negotiations, which makes sense. Then they to EVERYONES surprise they refused it.
The truth is they could have spun the recent update with a bigger resource upgrade including some of the drilling this year in order to justify, yet chose to roughly match our MRE with similar drill cut off date.
NCM do not have our best interests to heart and the sooner people wake up to that the better. IMHO

Does anybody really believe Newcrest’s excuse for not buying? I remember weeks raising the possibility of NCM not taking the 5% and their games to continue.
Havieron has potential to be one of the biggest finds in decades and they refuse to pay the 60m for the extra 5%, REALLY!

Dip, I appreciate your response. I’m sure we can probably agree that conversation for all scenarios will more than likely have been discussed, but until all paperwork is signed then things can change on both sides, especially after recent developments.

On the funding I guess he’s been as surprised as us and that’s possibly why funding wasn’t bought up until he’s had a chance to talk to the banks.

Shaun day told us he had term sheets on his desk, so I’m assuming they would have an agreement in principle subject to decision to mine being agreed.
The only fly in the ointment is the change in amount we have to borrow, but surely an extra 5% offsets this. IMHO

Agreed, can’t understand why the proactive lady didn’t ask him about the funding this morning on the interview. She also failed to ask how deep the decline had reached.

Bamps, is it fair to say that the strength of the grades in the HGZ secures Telfer’s future in the near term allowing them to slow the pace and focus on other priorities? Possibly with the view of Block caving years down the line when enough drilling has been done.

Beginner, It’s in black and white that NCM have chosen not to proceed with the 5% because it doesn’t meet their hurdles.

Perhaps a better option would be to say we are open to serious offers for the full 30%. That would fire a shot across NCM’s Bow.
