Someone light the fuse
Attending the AGM did give me confidence, not that I was told anything that is not in the public domain but for me, a lot can be said/interpreted from not just words. But this is only my assessment not fact! That’s why I made the effort and to be fair always did but lost the enthusiasm on the previous couple.
I too got the same detailed response from EOG regarding where the site survey is up to, which was a concern but the explanation is actually encouraging. We know that the some clever ass nimby waits until the last moment of consultation, then points out missing information to drag things on. Not just our application, everyone’s, Vermillion, CNOOC etc. I think the minister and DCCAE themselves are fed up with this and the fact that they are working with EOG to make sure all boxes are ticked this time before consultation is a good thing. DCCAE are aware of the requirement for survey this year and I don’t think they will let it drift due to red tape, too much is at stake in terms of their energy security.
As for link between site survey approval and farm out, for me it was not necessarily the survey holding it up, it was confirmation of the Irish governments position on exploration that has. You could look at the delays in site survey approval as an indicator of governments position, although we now know this isn’t the case. DCCAE are not trying to hold things up, it is EU regs and nimby, but we are nearly there now.
Again post AGM I asked the question whether they were linked, and the response was they don’t expect the site survey approval to delay farm out………this is positive to me. They could have used this as an excuse but they never.
I personally have always thought that survey approval and finalising the deal were linked and I am sure there is some correlation. That said, I do now believe this is not the case, farmout news could come at any time
A fellow investor who has his finger on the pulse emailed me. Never asked why but imagined the 6 weeks started after election results.
However this is the latest date, I got the impression from the AGM that the BOD expected the results before this though, around about now following comments like ‘hopefully in the next few weeks’..... that was a few weeks ago!
Happy to help Heidelberg ??
Positive Wressle decision at these prices I think will double us up, then when Inishkea lands, who knows double digits or not far off IMO
Both of these are due anytime, with the Wressle decision having a latest date for verdict as the 17th Feb. Not long either way
Looking forward to a good run into Christmas, hopefully starting with positive Wressle verdict in the next few days, then maybe Inishkea farmout pre Christmas??
Wressle back in the day would have had this trading at 7-8p when on the cusp of production...yeh we have been diluted but surely 5-6p alone on positive Wressle result and that for me is done deal
Hi Serif, from what I could gather the red tape nonsense has been sorted with the site survey and this would hopefully be issued ASAP. Allowing for public consultation on the last piece of information I reckon early Jan. But the fact that they now have clear sight of getting the approval may have moved farmout discussions.
I think we will have Inishkea signed and sealed before the end of Jan, I would not be surprised if it is before Christmas from the tone and wording I heard yesterday but that is purely my interpretation!
apologies for not reporting back sooner, it was a very long day yesterday so didn’t have it in me to write the email last night..
There was no Hugh in attendance, which I thought he may have to be honest.
First thing I asked was, where was Hugh and what was the real reason for leaving, and in particular the timing! To shareholders the timing could be inferred that things had gone wrong in Ireland? On this they towed the party line and gave pretty much the same explanation as they did in the RNS. This seemed genuine and they had very positive words to say about Hugh and how he has ‘tee’d’ things up nicely for the next stage in EOG’s journey. They made it very clear that Hugh’s departure was in no way a reflection of things happening in Ireland or lack of.
I was the only shareholder there so I had the stage to ask what I like. I will not go over everything but I personally made the trip to make a final decision about either selling up after nearly 10 years, or holding on. I am holding on!
It was very much a feel of this is a new era now, with positive news in the very short term to give us a spring board and something to cheer about. First Wressle and then from the impression I got Inishkea deal. Obviously they would not confirm timings but the impression I got, if not before Christmas, won’t be long after. These two news feeds will change the landscape for our SP.
Seems getting the site survey through has been a stumbling block with negotiations for farmout but by the sounds of things, everything seems to be resolved with this now and approval should be very soon. As has been mentioned on here before, Dreamon I think, this delay in approval is not the minister purposefully holding things up, it’s new EU regulation nonsense, but the guys eluded to the fact that going forward all this red tape and length of public consultations has been reviewed to make it easier.
Overall I actually thought Brian and Simon came across well, I forgot to ask a few things so I left a message for Simon to call me back and he did which was appreciated.
I think we will be having a decent Christmas, GLA
Those attending did get a positive feel..... I can speak for all PI attendees as I was the only one!
Wressle in the next few weeks, site survey and farmout won’t be far behind hopefully. The new guys seemed ok and answered my questions open and honestly. Ireland has not gone away, especially Inishkea
tacuma if he is there, he is there, personally I don’t care, it’s what is presented/discussed that interests me now as that it what will effect my holding.
My last conversation with Hugh was a goodbye email, if you or anyone else feel the need to know, the email contact details are freely available on the website
I have had a message from Hugh, no insider information of course but I am not one for sharing content of private emails on BB. What I would say is he believes things will work out, and he has a lot of skin in the game
