I though it seemed within the range of plausibility given how many unknowns there still are about the system.

DJ79, that was back of an envelope scribblings from me back in July 2020.
Average 1x1.6m panels are around 280W each (best case).
Assuming 100% electrolysis efficiency, we'd get about 8.5g/hr H2 per panel.
So accounting for inefficiencies and light levels, (8.5g*12hours*16panels) * 65% =~ 1kg.

They state they need a minimum 10 days of H2 generation.
12 hours sun with 16* 1x1.6m solar panels roughly enough to make 1kg K2 (I welcome any correction here!)
1kg H2 at 60% conversion efficiency is 21kWh.
Each EV needs two charges of it's 40?kWh battery over the race weekend.

I note their panels look larger than 1x1.6m though, and there are 10 visible.

What you can see in these photos, and which we've never seen before, are solar panels possibly for the electrolysis and so H2 generation, though not obvious where that electrolysis kit might be?

Though this press release focuses on Zenobe powering the paddock, and then Power Logistics powering the Command Center and the TV communications equipment, finally it mentions AFC :

New for the second X Prix – the Ocean X Prix – in Senegal, AFC Energy delivered its first Hydrogen Production Module which produces hydrogen from water using an electrolyser powered by solar panels. "

I see Islington is getting a new Ocado delivery site, but the question of electric vans is pending on a new substation to cope with charging…

“ Use electric vans exclusively for deliveries to Ocado customers in Islington instead of the current petrol and diesel vans coming from West London or Hertfordshire.*

*Pending approval from Islington Council, plans for a substation will enable Ocado to have a 100% electric fleet of delivery vans.”

All they need is an AFC unit and an occasional ammonia delivery ;)

AB glossed over that question in the CME (1h27m46s in the video) "[we are adding] the H2 upstream generation [from the electrolysers]", and it made me wonder if they didn't initially have the means to produce H2 on site for the first race...
So it's almost certainly not ammonia cracking tech on its way out there.
