He must be very happy indeed.

The difference being that Uber have revenue. Very significant revenue. And with that the promise that one day costs will reduce to the point that revenue becomes profit. AFC have next to bugger all revenue currently. No revenue can never equal huge profit. Whichever way you slice it, a company has to sell things (even at a loss), or have made a believable promise to do so, if it wants a huge valuation.

With regards to the comment about 200kW generators opening up the data centre market I’m not so sure!

I happen to have been at a new data centre recently and they have ~10 three-megawatt diesel gens for backup power. There wouldn’t have been space for 150 200kW units even on a site twice the size.

He thought the Chlor-Alkali industry would give it to us for free didn’t he?

I’ve mulled this over for most of today, and hadn’t seen an analysis of this phrase yet,

“ AFC Energy will be able to recover up to £4.3m of the total £4.8m granted, on a match funding basis.”

I hate reading “up to” on any advertising print as they’re are weasel words, but excluding that aspect what does the “match funding basis” part indicate?

Do AFC have to make (for sale) the equivalent of £4.3m of power towers (for example) to be awarded the full grant?

“Keep it concise” and then five consecutive posts. Ha!

I hope this isn’t all they’re able to update us with, because it didn’t warrant an actual RNS.

Those “EngSol” jobs, isn’t that the name of one of the management teams old companies?
Maybe he’s contracting his work through it still, but seems odd they’d let him hire staff for it through the main AFC website.
