BOIL announces a good well at Colter In a few weeks and the sp will probably/definitely fall imo.
Ocado completely destroys its main distribution centre and the sp goes up. Such are these crazy markets.

All views on here are equally valid. The reality here is plain for all to see. Retail margins in supermarkets everywhere are wafer thin, the Ocado technology is only of any use to its customer base if it is hugely cost effective and more importantly it is 100% reliable!!!. Ocado have had a big set back but if they are as good a management team as the “market” thinks, then they should be able to fight back with a quick, effective solution.

Difficult day for the people around the Andover site. Thoughts with them. Would love to know in all the technology talk by Ocado’s management what the sprinkler situation was in the building. No doubt that will come out in any investigation.

Share price will finish higher today. This company’s valuation has nothing to do with old world reality (cash flow, profits etc) anyway so why let a fire in a warehouse stop the inexorable rise of the biggest hot air stock in the world. Hopefully no people, staff or firefighters were injured in any way. That’s the really important thing.

If Colter logs a lot more hydrocarbon bearing sand than expected, and all the other listed partners get to work on it then yes maybe a few pence per share. Right now I’d be happy just to see the well commence drilling.

Reminds me of that field development back in the 1990’s. fractured chalk reservoir in the North Sea and used new technology to develop it and although the reservoir was fine the field was shut-in due to weather occasionally and other operational problems with the Ramform vessel. Impacts the NPV eventually. WoS different weather story so hope the technology is ok this time round...

Hard to say. One the plus side the Colter field could have a few million recoverable barrels of oil ( exactly how many depends on the amount of hydrocarbon sand they log), on the negative side the main shareholders have been around Gold/Baron for a long time and will just want some serious liquidity to exit with some cash. Best guess with a “good well” I’d say 1p. But who knows, the spread here has always been massive which must put off some buyers. GLAH

Interesting and honest assessment. It could be 25million barrels or could be much bigger if the well shows a larger amount of Sherwood sandstone. Fingers crossed!

Perhaps their drilling record has made some investors a little reticent to invest until the well result is more certain.
I know that sounds silly but there’s still plenty of investment opportunity after the Colter well result is known. Eg, a CPR and a deciding whether to drill a further appraisal well, if the field looks bigger, or a sale or the Wytch Farm Partners would all be investment events to follow.
