Understand your actions. Feel sorry for Faroe mgt, they've built a really good company over the years and have created a very attractive group of oil & gas assets and prospects with great production growth (cash flow) and loads of exploration potential. They will continue to build value in my opinion if left to get on with it. Another outfit come along with with their only real production in a danger zone and criticise everything Faroe have done just to try and buy them for a bargain price. I hope the Fund Mgrs do the right thing, but I suspect they will take DNOs cash in the end. I don't believe for one minute that DNO can or will walk away. They need assets in a more stable environment than Kurdistan!!!

Good luck with Tunisia. It's been a basket case for upstream investment for many years.

Sorry it was Blackrock not Blackstone and they were selling Superdry shares, not buying.
TBH if Blackstone had bothered to invest here they would have bought the whole company & not just a few shares.

Good point I agree RBD has more "investment" strings to their bow than BOIL does plus BOIL has a monumental share overhang from the Parvisi family holding. However Wick is an important North Sea well on its own as it can open up a whole new near shore play of up to 250m bbls of oil in place (according to the well respected Mr Staley). The fact that we started digging the well yesterday and our share price drifts lower surprised me. However UPL did the same today so I shouldn't be too surprised. Let's just hope for a positive drilling result for all companies involved.

Aviva proudly announce they have completed the repurchase of almost 120 million of their own shares at 502p each.
Clearly a group of executives and a Board of Directors with their fingers on the pulse of world markets. Currently down around £150m on one unnecessary deal (special dividend please if you’ve got too much capital! Trying to influence your share price with small buybacks is a mugs game).
They removed their CEO early the following month and said a replacement would be in place “within 4 months”. Please God be it an external CEO replacement early next year with hopefully a new Chair on their way too....I’d love a reason to hold this share other than the yield.

Well what a strange world. Reabold market cap has risen today by MORE than our entire company value!!!
Reabold own 13.1% of the Wick prospect and we own 15%!

Make interesting reading. One is “Fight for oil explorer Faroe “on knife edge”. The second is “They’ll murder us Kurds once America is gone”. I can’t figure out if Turkey will invade Kurdistan after Trump withdraws his military support for the Kurds. However Turkey imports 90% of its crude oil and as a country produces less than 70,000 barrels per day it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to figure out what Turkey may be thinking today!
DNO need Norwegian reserves now more than ever, that would tell me they should up their bid, but where is the bottom for oil prices??? If late 2014 is anything to go by the oil price has further to fall. Really difficult call for the Fund Mgrs in Faroe. Doesn’t look like any competing bids are emerging either. Faroe mgt are top rate (in my opinion) nothing wrong with selling up and starting again!!! They will have a big following if they decide to do that. Not long to wait now I suspect. GLAH.

In today’s Sunday Times Business Section, and I quote “Contracts in the Middle East, including a deal to set up colleges in Saudi Arabia, have also taken their toll. Interserve is understood to be chasing millions of pounds owed from that deal”.
Plenty of opportunities in that geographical area, but companies need to be very careful indeed.

Let me be clear though, I really like this company. They are unique and operate in a very high potential area of the Middle East healthcare market plus their IVF and cosmetic surgery businesses should do really well. However they need to significantly improve their cash flow collection. That won’t be easy for them as they operate in an environment where (sadly) late and non payments are all too frequent. Some high profile U.K. contractors will testify to that! If NMC can deliver strong cash flow and reduce their debtor days significantly then I could be convinced to buy some shares, but not yet and not as these silly high valuation multiples.

Another small Christmas present for the lawyers and advisors (no doubt on both sides!)

Faroe shareholders could always sell their shares and use the cash to buy DNO share price “puts”.
I suspect that’s possibly a way to get a higher return :)
With Russia and the US selling billions of dollars of missiles to Turkey and reading Turkey’s aggressive comments about the Kurds it’s hard to see a great outcome for production levels in Kurdistan. Plus the oil price looks like it’s in a downward spiral and the DNO share price hasn’t yet fallen anywhere near as much as the other oil stocks....just a thought.

It did a while back. Not helped by Joint-Chairman dribbling out shares regularly (albeit tiny amounts) plus other main shareholder’s share sale transaction. For a FTSE100 co these shares are horribly illiquid which increases volatility dramatically.
Convertible Bond at these share price levels will need cash to repay it and not shares!! Increases the “debt” burden.
Great company but needs to stop the “superlatives” in the financial PR and start delivering FCF! Dividend level tells its own story.
