Hi A1EX, i think they are lakes. If you have a look on google earth at the same location there is a high resolution image available from 2018, there are two lakes in the 'white' regions you highlight. I think there was a big storm in late May/June which could explain the change.

The black spots are difficult, its not uncommon for them to just come and go, I am not sure what causes them on the ground, but they can be natural.

Hi Paddy, how convinced by the step out to the north are you? Does look like there is something there, but its quite faint and there does not seem to be any dirt roads around or other type of disturbance.s Not saying its not, but just wondering how confident you are?

I think (?) i have worked out the drilling in the SW (at least over the 1st dune). Others may have already worked this out - i am a little slow to realise, but i thought i would share anyway.

I plotted all the drilling based on the coordinates from the Newcrest reports, many holes in the SW have already been reported. However, everything is in 3D, the drills are place in at an angle. Thus from the surface it looks like this drilling is in a 'new location', actually its just angled in towards the main body. You can work this out by looking at the Azimuth and Dip on the appendix on the Newcrest reports.

The possible drilling over the 2nd dune has not been reported. I will show a figure at some point.

Excellent image Value Seeker, I have had a look at the planet imagery and do not see anything in that location. Although this does not mean that there wasnt something there when the image was taken.

Have a look at the activity over the past week 8th June - 16th June, two points:

1. The pace of change over just 8 days is incredible. Newcrest are in a rush mine.

2. In particular see the SW over the first sand dune. They have to be striking gold down there. But remember none of this has been reported yet. For me, the only question is whether this is an extension of the Breccia zone, or a second body of mineralization.

There has been some chat about the SW...Have a look at this video, there has consistently been 2/3 rigs over the first dune since the beginning of March non-stop, its almost like its the central area of activity. There are only 9 rigs in total. We know NCM are doing everything to get this mined ASAP. Why would they 'waste' 2/3 rigs on this SW section when we know the high grade zone is trending in the opposite direction towards the NW, it just doesn't make sense, unless there is something juicy down there..... I think they are holding something back.

is the 28.7p is something to do with the risk multiple?

The risk factor they use is 0.5 x, so if you were to assume a risk factor of somewhere close to 1, then it gets close to 28.7P?

Does anyone know what a 'risk factor' means?

They have certainly been drilling pretty consistently over the 1st dune, but not so much over the 2nd dune.

I was was confused by Paddy's recent post on twitter (https://twitter.com/paddygall1/status/1270992792282595328/photo/1)

I took the circle of the pin HAD066 (blue circle bottom left) as the drill location - but its not. It actually points to the thick red line, you just cant see it on the faded image. So, there was drill activity on the 23rd of May at the HAD066 pin in paddy's tweet, but that is not actually HAD066, it is where the thick red line is and was drilled way way earlier. The coordinates in one of the other figures confirm this.

I mentioned something similar yesterday, if i am looking at the right hole, HAD66 seems to have had a rig on it as late as the 23rd May. This is far later than many of the holes in the SW, so why were these not reported? Did they find nothing? or are they holding some information?

Its difficult to tell, but it looks like they were drilling HAD066 as late as 23rd May on the satellite imagery. Does anyone have any ideas as to why they would include this result now and not mention the significant activity in the SW over both the 1st dune and the 2nd dune which appears to have been drilled much earlier?

Do they have to report all drill results at some point? Or of they find nothing can they just ignore it? Or can they delay the announcement as they see fit within reason?

To clarify, the 'lights' seen on the nocturnal images are not 'lights', they just represent the relative reflectance from buildings/vehicles/other objects of the HH and HV bands. (These represent the colours). The sentinel 1 images are SAR (radar images), radar can see through clouds and do not need solar light or electric light. Essentially the image would look exactly the same no matter what time of day it was taken, not matter how cloudy/not cloudy the image is or if the lights are switched on/off.

I think the SAR image still clearly shows 8/9 rigs out and about and very much active. If you switch to the VH decimal gamma0 mode there are 4/5 rigs aligned in a NW-SE orientation through the middle. Then towards the NE there is a cluster which have been there for a while. The cluster in the centre is accommodation/buildings. This is very much in agreement with the optical imagery. I will post a Planet video comparison later/tomorrow, there looks to be drill prep to further step out NW and another hole in the SE and plenty of action in the centre and of course the mysterious black square of doom.

The SAR images will only detect buildings and the actual rigs, so you wont see any drill prep or ground clearing etc. Don't think you can read to much into the different colour of the lights. I think that the different colours reflect how much reflection there is from the two different bands (VH and VV). So it could be different types of drills, but also it could be something as simple as changing the orientation/angle of the rig in relation to the satellite.

@Spratt The spatial resolution of the planet constellation is better 4m vrs 10m. But there are a few others things which dictate how clear the image is, so it is not as straight forward as making a direct comparison.

The square disturbance is intriguing, as you mentioned it was not there on the 2nd and certainly looks man made. I cant personally see a road to it and perhaps it seems like alot of work for 48 hours? The straight line going through it looks more like an image artefact which are consistently spread out through the entire image. If you go across these image you can see these lines appearing at a consistent distance. That said, it is difficult to see how something so rectangular is not man made..... Time will tell in the next few days....

For those interested in what the drilling looks like from space, but sometimes fail to spot it/can not work the sentinel viewer, this video slider between two images may be of use. It flickers between an image on the 1st June and 23rd May. The satellites are from the Planet constellation and are normally available daily or at least every 2 days.

Also just a thought, you can actually get sub meter resolution commercial imagery these will be really really clear, much better than Sentinel or Planet. I would imagine all the big investing firms will be able to afford to pay for these. Those with knowledge of drilling would be able to gain even more information from these. For context Sentinel 2 is 10 m and Planet is 4m.

The actual SP at 11:48 was 11.30p, suggesting most of those big trades were sells. As mentioned already by others it does not really matter, still a stunning couple of days.
