Of course the BOD are more worried about their jobs than anything else, what's new?

What's happening here has been happening all over the market for decades. My only confusion is why people keep falling for it time after time and thinking somehow the usual trend won't apply here for some reason.

.........sit watching this car crash unfolding in front of them and say, "multibag tomorrow", "shorts scared stiff" and "oh, it's going to be a good day at the markets tomorrow". I mean FFS, just reading all this weekends news articles should suggest to anyone with an ounce of sense that unless there is a miracle, it's going to be a ******* dreadful day at the markets tomorrow.

MA can accuse as much as he likes, but he's obviously a very desperate man now. I mean come on, the idiot is talking about lie detectors. This is Jeremy Kyle stuff. Whether he's right or wrong, the fact remains that they can rush this straight into pre pack administration after tomorrow.

Ashley is an outsider to the people involved here. The hedge funds and the big names involved have governments and regulators on their side whatever they get up to. MA has spat his dummy out and is talking utter nonsense at this point. He quite simply doesn't have a chance IMO.

I'd have thought it was pretty obvious that they decide whether to accept his offer or not regardless of whether he meets the conditions. Of course they don't want him to meet the conditions and don't expect him to, but even if he does they can still move the goal posts and decide for themselves whether or not to accept his offer. Remember MA isn't running the company, people here talk like he is.

Not only that, the only way he can satisfy the conditions realistically is with an extension and in that case the lenders are fully in charge of whether to allow one or not.

Even if he meets the conditions they still have the final say, MA has no say at this point.

Well HK85, the bridges will need to be rebuilt within the next 12 to 18 hours and he only tore what was left of them down within the last hour or so.

Clearly the BOD and MA are not the ones calling the shots any more.

The only thing MA can do is pay well over the odds if he wants this company now, and even he's not stupid enough to do that.

.......Mike Ashley is hurling accusations around and burning more bridges with the people he needs to accept his offer. I've said it before and I'll say it again. MA is a desperate, clueless, unprofessional fat head.

.......Once this goes into pre-pack administration either tomorrow or Tuesday, no doubt all the rampers will be screaming foul play and bumping their gums about legal action, still refusing to accept what was in front of them all along.

My advice for anyone who stays on the sinking ship tomorrow is to just forget about the money you've lost, you knew the game, the risks and the people you were up against, just move on.

The lenders do hold all the cards now. The BOD can only advise the lenders as to whether or not they should accept MA's offer or even allow an extension. THEY will decide whether this goes into pre-pack administration tomorrow and I can see no reason why it won't considering this has obviously been months in planning.

The lenders will have most likely have this company in their back pocket and laughing all the way to the bank in mere hours from now IMO.

I'm not panicking about anything coldspy, not even a little, why on earth would I?

I've had a great weekend, made some decent pocket money at Aintree which I have now moved to my share dealing account for what will hopefully be a profitable week, I had a lovely roast pork dinner today, sat around smiling looking forward to the week ahead and will have a good nights sleep ready for another exciting days trading tomorrow.

.........to see so many people here ramping the azz off this stock when it's not 24 hours away from administration and shareholders stand to lose everything. Fine if you want to go down with the ship but don't encourage other mugs to lose money tomorrow if the chance presents itself.

I keep reading all this, "New CEO to the rescue tomorrow", "Good old Mike's here to save us" bullshzit. I'm fairly sure most of the people saying it realise the chances of this not going into administration at this point are so slim as to be negligible, but still they persist, perhaps for the sake of their own sanity, who knows.

It's obvious the BOD and the lenders are far more powerful and intelligent than MA. Exactly the same as they were over on FLYB. THEY know where they want this to go, and Mike Ashley with all his media attention seeking this weekend will do absolutely nothing to stop them IMO.

That sky article read very negatively and only reiterated what I said earlier on. The LENDERS are calling the shots now. THEY will decide whether or not there's an extension and THEY decide whether or not to accept anything else MA can dream up. Given what we know THEY stand to gain, I'm fairly confident THEY will tell MA to fcuk off.

........and I had a chance to get out of this near 2p tomorrow I'd make one almighty bolt for the door first chance I got.

The upside here is minimal and the downside total. At the current level I just don't see the attraction at all.

As I said last week, this is a 25/1 shot, maybe a 50/1 shot as of now with Even money odds being offered.

I'm not sticking up for the vultures, I'm just presenting you with simple logic. THE SCUMBAG VULTURES ARE RUNNING DEBENHAMS, I know that. My point is, they're not going to shoot themselves in the foot by accepting Ashley's inferior (from their perspective) offer.

To add to that HK. I know the BOD put that term in their to save their own jobs, but it doesn't matter why they put it in there, it's there and it must be met. You say he's not talking about sacking anyone, but how do you propose he moves himself in without moving somebody else out? He's tiptoeing around not calling an EGM, but still making himself boss which will not wash with the current BOD because as you say, they're worried about there own jobs.

Quite frankly wolf, I don't see any positives.

HK, DEBS is now being run by a board of directors who are subservient to the big lenders. My point is, what is good for the lenders and the BOD is what's good for the company. They are the company now, not the shareholders. Why would they accept a deal which is infinitely worse for themselves?

.........Let's consider why MA's desperate attention seeking this weekend is likely to go nowhere........

1) The £200m deal the BOD have secured is on far better terms for the company (Not better for shareholders obviously) than anything MA/SPD have offered thus far.

2) MA is still demanding he is made CEO. One of the terms demanded be met by the BOD was that the EGM is cancelled which threatens the current executive status quo.

3) The creditors who are virtually running the company now would be far worse off if they accepted MA's desperate offer this weekend.

Given the facts, I see no reason to be optimistic about the future here. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the BOD nipped this in the bud first thing before the market opens with a big fat RNS telling MA to fcuk off.
