I agree. At 245 I thought I'd be onto a winner but it's never that easy!

Admittedly I don't know much about the arcane mechanisms of the stock market but I have been a share owner for some years and my understanding was that UTs did not significantly impact the sp because it was a balancing exercise. I am always ready to learn otherwise!

I will keep a keen eye on what happens in the morning.

My broker shows the sp as 245p.
There was a sale of 6,947,699 shares at end of day Friday for that price.

I bought a few more this morning as part of my 21/22 ISA allowance. Wickes needs to work on its website IMO but I think it's just getting going after leaving Travis.

Says persevere with Unilever.

Signs are that you don's know what you are talking about. Patent infringement is a civil matter and fines are not imposed; financial remedy is awarded as 'damages'.

Claims for patent infringements and the defences that can be raised against such claims are exceedingly complex and the only winners will be the lawyers.

The classic example is the battle between Edison and Swann. Intelligent people, they resolved the matter by forming a joint company - Ediswann. In the case of Autostore greed has apparently trumped intelligence.

The message I am getting is that it is Autostore pushing the idea that the lawsuit is a matter of critical importance. Autostore is pushing to increase its size and value over an infringement claim it could easily lose and which even if it won may well be worth far less than it tries to claim. It’s a confidence trick in short.

The only chance of an imminent £5 sp is on news of a takeover. IMO.

Brokers have their own agendas. They don't reveal all. Last week I bought a stock that dipped after a broker downgraded, now I am in profit on it. They love a volatile market.

Let's be honest - we don't really know what affects share prices a lot of the time! Educated guesswork and a bit of luck is our only hope.

Pure escapism. What can possibly go wrong? Put some pounds down for a share in the action, anyway. Just for fun.

Sadly it seems ULVR is being battered by a political storm and that seems most likely to be its problem. Nevertheless, and with no political motive, I have bought a load more at 3932 this morning. Given time I hope that will prove a good move.

Much as I like the idea of tying up some capital in Britains leading high street brand, it's the words 'high street' that fill me with fear uncertainty and doubt. What plans does MKS have for dealing with its increasingly dead-in-the-water real estate?

Agree. Very short termism. If it does happen I just hope it's another British listed company

LGEN's fall is likely to have been because they went XD 12 Aug; AV. goes XD on 26 Aug after which, other things remaining the same*, it too will see a drop in proportion, say 1.75-1.80%. I have zero loyalty to either stock and am in good profit with AV., LGEN and MNG as a result. It's other stocks that let me down. ULVR you owe me..
