Balanced post, ThirdRock, a good input.
However I disagree that everything will soon be over for masks.
First, because mass vaccination will certainly take longer than touted by hopeful officials.
Acceptance for compulsory vaccination against the coronavirus is pretty low in some major countries, and the latest AZN blunder will only serve to reinforce the defiance.
Second, because where face masks were once an utter oddity in Western Europe, they have now become commonplace.
Even once the sanitary crisis ends, it won't be shocking anymore to see people wearing a surgical mask in the streets.
These two factors mean that, in order to go outside whilst avoiding vaccination, a decent number of people should be willing to continue wearing a mask for a longer time.
