Yep, Moderna's vaccine announcement will send a further shockwave on the corona stocks. But that won't even be the main dish.

January, when one or two regular vaccines will be showcased, is going to be a bloodbath.
The weakest stocks will see their price fall in the single digit. And the strongest won't fare much better.

Investing is a mix of careful considerations and emotions, each investor verging more towards one or the other. But ramping is crossing the line.

When rampers go wild, their ill-considered actions affect everyone and everything : the share price, the investors and the even company itself to some extent.

That is neither responsible nor acceptable, and ought to be kept in check.

Correlatively, failures on the part of the company should be pointed out and shamed - instead of being swept under the rug or glorified.

And you are mistaken : I am not rubbishing GDR, merely its poor management.

Then it is a case of blaming both the CEO for not stirring the company in the right direction, and also investors for not being more suspicious or more demanding the the CEO delivers in the short term.

As you see we're not in fundamental disagreement ; I just believe it wouldn't be fair to absolve the CEO from any responsibility, and solely blame investors instead. It takes two to tango.

Hold people to account - first those who mismanaged your money, and then yourself if these people's incompetence and/or crookery was obvious.

Haha, DB is probably a much better CEO than any of us would be here. But that doesn't mean he's qualified for the job, or if he is, that he hasn't done serious mistakes.

If someone botched his job, he should be held accountable for that, not least if he's the CEO.

HeimlichIII, I'm critical of the management but wouldn't go as far as to accuse them of knowingly telling lies.

At this point I "just" have strong doubts over their competency, and that includes not meeting a goal that they themselves had set (i.e. sales in June).

It'll be fine, anything can be interpreted as being positive anyway !

HeimlichIII see the 22 May RNS, for example : "aims to record first commercial sales in June".
It's November and there's still no RNS-worthy news about said sales.

One can split hair and claim that "this wasn't a forecast" because the company was just "aiming" and gave no specific figures, but not even that would hide the fact that something went wrong, and that the management likely has some serious questions to answer for.

Yes HeimlichIII, invest based on a "forecast" and a management which has a pretty bad record at matching forecasts. That should end well for you.

GDR has obtained the CE mark so it can theoritically sell in most of Europe.
Approval has also been gained in South Africa if my memory serves me right.

So that's roughly 30 countries where sales could stem from.
