It's basically a binary bet. If BROE drilling goes ahead, LOGP's share price will go into the stratosphere.

The good news is that if/when FID money arrives, the mcap basically values the remainder of our Etinde investment for c.£20m. Percentage wise, that remainder is the same % as the portion we farmed out for $200m. So while this is the most tedious wait ever, you would hope there's light at the end of the tunnel

nothing wrong with a placing when the company has commercial oil and the SP is going up. Death spiral placings are bad news but that wouldn't be the case here.
All the posters saying 'placing' yesterday were saying on the basis that no oil commercial had been discovered. Now that it has they're saying the same but it means something quite different!

This share has a habit of 'waking up' every few months, hopefully we'll get a sustained rise this time.

Good continued support from major shareholder. They've stood by LOGP for years and continue to invest/lend, so this bodes well.

Strange that the SP is below the pre-spud price when Heron has shown oil and Gazelle is still being drilled. Surely a major correction if either come in.

Tidd that's a good summary from someone who actually understands the situation and the company & its history. Posters pop up from time to time here saying the company is about to run out of money but they don't understand the APEC loan is nothing to do with LOGP's working capital. The support of the IIs too is key, by calling in the loan they are limiting their chances of getting paid so would be a very strange thing to happen.

Oiler I would argue the opposite - the announcement by Ireland came as no surprise. Everyone has climate control on the radar and Ireland in particular has been discussing it for months. What the announcement did clarify is that it does not apply to existing licences.

I reckon TOR is only relaying what he knows. He's been given assurances by APEC, HSBC, which are compelling enough for us to be in this situation at all. There also is a risk he's clutching at straws or being naive but we'll only know for sure by 1 Oct.

TOR's tone seems confident and it looks like he's hanging his hat on the fact the funds will arrive. That said he did make a swipe at APEC with threat of legal recourse, which suggests there is some blame to be placed at their door, and not just HSBC's.

To blame PVR's delays on TOR's desire to prolong the gravy train doesn't add up if you really think about it. What about the price of oil collapse in 2014? What about PVR's share price in the 600s and the stack of options TOR would have made a fortune on? That he was happy to say goodbye to all that simply to extend his annual salary for a couple more years? I don't buy it.

agreed, any upwards revision to forecasts would likely be conservative to make sure that it's hit. So there's a decent chance of outperforming it.
