Headancer - nice one I had to put the author of an investor intel article straight on the subject of 'Vanadium batteries unlike Lithium-ion can be charged and discharged at the same time" (I believe a phrase originally used by Robert Friedland last year.)

On one level such a statement makes no sense as a charge and discharge current simply add together to make an overall current that is either a charge or a discharge current, not both.

If we assume that the author actually meant 'they can be switched between charge and discharge rapidly' then perhaps that is also not the issue as I understand that both Vanadium Flow and Lithium Ion battery types can have sub millisecond response times - eg for frequency stabilisation functions.

Perhaps what the author is trying to get at is that you can switch between charge and discharge, 'without a damaging loss of performance'. If this is what he/she is trying to say then yes Vanadium Flow batteries clearly are superior to all the Lithium-ion chemistries, as well as somewhat surprisngly also Lead-acid as figure 2 in this article illustrates:- https://www.princeton.edu/~spikelab/papers/101.pdf

Yachty - it sounds like they are trying to piggy back on Largo by potentially getting a pit next door to them but then hand the stuff to Largo for processing.

Doesn't sound like a particularly attractive option if I was Largo - and could quite easily be rebutted if Largo said 'naah, build your own processing plant for $250M like we had to'

With an opening line like that you can be confident that we never paid a penny to get that article written on our behalf.

Why didn't they just say "as a company which didn't have a mine it wasn't able to make any Vanadium" ... just like 100% of all the other Vanadium wannabees out there right now.

gkb47 - you need to go back a couple of weeks to see at what price they sold shares that they did not have - i.e. created the short position they now have.

you will see that a significant amount was added to the short at around 44.5p on the 20th and 21st Nov (i.e. Buys by PI's = Sells from MMs) - they took cash off us at an average of 44.5p whilst they are now getting the shares at around 43p - so they are making money. Which is why they are now doing it

Rob - despite the reduction is Fevertree valuation over the last quarter it still has a MC of £2.7 Billion and a PE ratio of 57.

Indeed BMN is a huge growth stock and the average of our contemporaries in the AIM100 is around 25 so I see no reason why BMN should be right up there with the best of them.

Daisan - if as you say most traders on AIM fail then it is quite fair to judge by saying that the evidence is that trading on AIM is a bad strategy.

@UncleJohn - not just possible but highly likely I think.

pb940 - the wide range of different TA strategies (including their inverses) available on the trading menu suggest that no TA strategy would win-out in the anthropocentric feedback game, unless of course you have your favourite and wish to argue without evidence that that one, above all others, should be followed.
