faramog et al - given that customers have in the past been indulged by Evraz who sold Nitrovan at exactly the same price as FeV (because they sold both) you can appreciate that BMN couldn't simply put the Nitrovan price up by 20% overnight. I would hope that a pricing adjustment was introduced more slowly to the market so as to avoid any 'cliff edge' effects

gkb47 - that is easy, it is down to the second law of thermodynamics that requires entropy in a closed system to always increase as time flows forward.

Harrimmm, - are you suggesting that short sellers buy shares when the share price drops ? Only if they already have a short position to close, which would require the ability to foretell the future ?

The standard argument about increasing liquidity is never justified - how much extra liquidity does short selling introduce ? 0.1 %, 10% 1000% ? If there was any experimental evidence that liquidity was increased we would be able to find the answers to such a question.
