Does Sainsbury need to have its products at a price point to make it prohibitive for the average Joe to shop with them?

Take Sainsbury or Tesco as big retailers. their PE is about or below 10.
Is it realistic to expect JD to have a PE of 15 any time soon, or should we consider it fairly priced at the current level in the current environment?

I believe JD is in a much stronger position than Asos and Boohoo, but investors are precautionary leaving the boat rather than sailing rough seas.

What are institutional investors doing with JD? are they holding/selling or even buying? Does anyone have visibility on this?

Earning release will be informative, but alone won't bring much info as we know the profits before tax already.

Macroeconomics is another issue. I think best case we will see JD returning to the highest highs again not as soon as we would hope. A fair conservative price is 150p in the medium term, provided there are no nasty surprises (e.g. a big brand turning their back on JD, etc.)

on the 7th of June JD announced: The Group expects to release its final results for this period, incorporating this provision, shortly.
"Shortly" seems to mean a week or over now...

Not a good news ,nor a catastrophe either. JD will need to make provision for the CMA fine, hopefully it will be reduced. I wonder how many more bunnies JD will pull out its cylinder

Short positions up 37%. 37% of a small number is still a small number. Besides, shorts end up burned too, sometimes.
Results were to be announced within the first 2 weeks of June. With no further delays it means this or next week. Hopefully there will be less clouds in the sky

at 120 risks should be priced in, however it very much depends on the extent of any unpleasant surprise that may come on JD's way. I would be more nervous shorting JD than being long. I hope shorts are not aware of anything that is not in the public domain.

I haven't been following this one much. Why do brokers forecast a price twice as much?
Profits haven't been very consistent over a number of years..
