Did Unilever offer 50 Billions for what Haleon is today, as product range, cash, debt, assets etc? if the answer is yes, why is the market cap only 25B? Or Unilever put in a very generous offer and GSK foolishly declined it?

onlyprofit - Did you say 10 pounds? Or did you mean £1.00? Are you forecasting a market cap of over 50 billions? where is that coming from, that's not going to happen.

It not a matter of argument on whether people are willing to spend £150-200 on branded stuff. That's happened for decades and actually brought companies of the likes of Nike and Adidas to make their fortune. JD won't be penalised from its central core business centred on the sale of brands. Big brands need the physical presence in high streets to keep their visibility. That's what JD is providing. JD invests in sports people which is a good thing, have you seen Anthony Joshua wearing a JD Sports t-shirt in some of his appearances?
"Administrative expenses" have gone up quite significantly... what's driving that? Total debt has gone up significantly too.. what is a realistic figure for the full year profits, or losses?
It will take a 50% increase to return to the price pre-HY results. An encouraging director buy but, is the confidence of the board sufficient to give retain the current share holders?
"We note initial investor feedback last week pointed to some question marks on Mr. Schultz's background and the lack of significant sporting goods or U.S. experience, which will likely need to be addressed" -J.P Morgan
All I know that the CMA will breathe down JD's neck for the coming 3 years. So I wouldn't be overly surprise if there are more skeletons coming out of the cupboards in the near future. Let's hope not.
I notices the positive note too, and i believe JD offers publicity to big brands by its presence in high streets and the image it has with its gyms. However nothing stops big brands to part ways with JD, sometimes it is better to have your own brands
