Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Thanks Villac2
Melody vr as a search term hit 100 around this time last yr. Another jump beginning Dec 16th and looks to be breaking out again now.
LOL. Out of interest, do you understand the trends chart? I don't understand the interest ratings.. is there anywhere where we get the raw data ie number of searches?
Good find Cunir. I'd wrongly assumed all the work was being done at their HQ address. Hastings makes much more sense.
Even more interest with the correct spelling.

Scratching around for any info on this. Watching the CNBC report a few months back with AM's interview. Few shots of the office before the interview. Looks like the team are all using Mistika VR software which has stereo 3d capability. At least two of the techs there have got 3d glasses on their desks. I've no knowledge of the workflow for this content but it seems to me that the content currently out and future releases are being worked on for higher quality 3d. Granted, they are all sitting on their asses, drinking coffee as has been suggested by some.
Anyone catch The Streets' gig yet? The best promotion of VR/Melody so far.. So many mentions (with narrative not just "get melodyvr") Off the top of my head about 50 mentions of the concert in VR.
Peter Crouch in the VIP section seemed to be enjoying the gig!
Love me a bit of The Streets.. some good memories! Nice video from a photographer who got caught out ticket wise and sneaked in through the artists' entrance with his camera in hand. Just so happens to be a MVR concert too.

Signed.
Looks like Apple & Goldman Sachs are developing a new smart credit card which will link up with iPhones. https://www.warc.com/newsandopinion/news/apple_and_goldman_sachs_plan_smart_credit_card/41726
Indeed Jesk, some seem to forget the quality of the team.
What's interesting for me is the cameras. What are they capable of? Looking at the most recent recording (LP) we can see they are pretty chunky bits of kit. If the app is being developed for the Quest, with its 6DOF - are the cameras capable of recording in stereoscopic? We know they record at 8k and they look v similar to the stereoscopic cameras available on Amazon (Chinese made, not ours £3100 a piece)
If so, we'll see a huge increase in the quality and immersion and hopefully the beginning of the real launch - with new territories and "ingame" multi user interaction. We found out last week that ex gaming coders are working on the app.
They haven't been appointed to stitch the recordings together.
Nice find Cunir. Good selection of clients they have too.
You want to buy when the market is selling. Maximises the return on their position.
"MVR have never indicated they wanted to roll out on mobiles until they finally realised VR headset uptake was slow, poor strategy and business acumen." Smartphones have been mentioned well before the last interims Themis. As with the release of headsets, phone tech needs to be up to speed with the demands of VR. Flagship Samsungs use GearVr (Inc the recent Note 9) and as prices for the Snapdragon chipset fall, we'll see more capable phones along with hopefully an Android app release. The Snapdragon 855 should be out this year which will be a massive step up in computing power (which will benefit Oculus as well as mobile phone manufacturers) 2019 should also see 5g rolled out which will have a massive positive impact for mobile streaming devices (4k 360 vr anybody?) I can see why there's frustration. They've missed a few deadlines and AM spins a yarn or two at times but what they've achieved thus far and the team that's been built keeps me positive. Just found this Hololens demo on youtube. I've been hunting around to see what its capable of (potential for MVR). This demo excites me as it is the first time I've seen something other than pixel avatars/chars and UI pop ups. Go to 1:26 to see. Maybe we will have the ability to actually walk around a stage? Haven't we been promised the chance to perform with the artists?

Melody licensed their IP for use in the advertising so there should be, if anything, income related to that granting of license?
Facebook were advertising for a Music Artists Partnerships Manager to develop, manage, and maintain relationships with key music partners to drive product adoption and partner value. The listing closed October last year and describes one of the employees required experiences :
Knowledge and experience of working with VR and AR technologies related to music artists
This was a senior position requiring 8+ years of experience in music, technology and social media industries + working across the EMEA region.
https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/jobs/facebook-strategic-partner-manager-music-artists-uk/
The MBW site lists 11 FB jobs related to music. What their overall strategy is, I've no clue.
To add: The presentation hosted by Kobalt (The same event Stephen Hancock was at) regarding how music artists make money was a real eye opener and worth watching and could shed some light on how much of the pie Melody eventually ends up with (although, I believe we may qualify for a larger percentage as the risk/investment is all MVR's.. IMO)

I see Windows VR is opening up to desktop apps. Maybe we'll see some news soon about our Microsoft partnership bearing fruit.

LOL
Great point Sharebuy! Advertising will be coming whether or not FB acquire. AM specifically mentions talks about this in his interview with Andrew Scott.

China is a bit.. problematic currently. Without knowing all the ins and outs, I've read that the govt there has even put a stop on new computer games being developed there. Have you seen the documentaries about their new social credit system? Charlie Brooker had quite the inside scoop on that. Or it could be the tariffs spat. We're not a completely British company are we?
