For anyone interested I’ve been digging deeper into the royalties question and in the decree documents from Mali it specifically states that the mining royalties are called TAV and according to the table between the spod price of 1500-3000 USD the royalty rate is 5.5% not 10%.

I welcome anyone to challenge this if you think this is wrong but you’ll have to provide source documents. I’m not going to be arguing with people just declaring that they believe it’s 10% with no basis. If you have another decree that states 10% then fair enough I would like to see that too. But as it stands this is the best evidence I can find.

I believe is a decree and it mentions rates and I believe it’s saying that at the current gold price the levy is 10% but spod is on a different scale which is interesting cause I’ve only seen articles about gold miners paying the 10%. But my French isn’t great so… this may all be wrong. The percentage tabels are page 613 in the second document

The official mining code 2023 doesn’t once mention 10% royalties, its set by separate decrees. The only document I can find that talks percentage rates is a sliding scale depending on the price of spod. Does anyone have a link to the actual details of the royalty arrangements?

Yep that is why I clarified I couldn’t verify it. AI is very useful but you have to fact check it.
