It’s probably quite likely that Hainan would be the offtake partner for phase two but got to keep their options open and show they’ll stray if they don’t get a good deal from Hainan.

Fair point badomen. In that case will likely be a discrepancy with what spod price they were looking at with hainan only paying the lower bound of the range until they confirm purity. The alternative is a conspiracy in which Hainan have just underpaid the spod price which would be a breach of the OTA. They have no reason to do this so it’s not very likely, plus we would legally need to be informed if that was the case.

Surely the most likely scenario is this time round the water content was higher than expected as it was sat around for a while in the wet season. But we haven’t paid to produce that weight yes we pay for shipping but until we get the price per DMT clarification in China it’s all pointless speculation. Are some of you suggesting hainan has just randomly not paid the spod price? Seems unlikely. I’m also not sure everyone is looking at the right price as the 5-5.5% price is currently 1,146 dollars.

Once the market believes they’ll produce at nameplate the market cap will look silly. Quarterly reports will help as well once there’s actual profit numbers then it will begin to trade at a suitable multiple based on perceived risk.

No point speculating what’s happened with the spod price paid till the final figure is in after inspection in China. Better to be pessimistic to upgrade in January than the other way round imo. But either way next shipment will likely have a much nicer price and expected to produce consistently over the next year. Everything is fine.
