I'd say the problem is, rather than unused, if the person gets a negative result, as me and my family/colleagues did, then dont bother registering the result as the result was not needed for an event or anything.

Well i bought £2k on friday morning for the gamble.

(I accidentally bought £150 ish pounds worth to start with in error as i rushed it and asked for a 1000 share quote rather than a £1000 quote, so my fees are a bit higher for this holding).
