There is no fight. Right now locals can just show their dissapproval of a mine near them.....thats is it. Currently it fullfills all the EIA requirements, so unless the locals have found some rare stone that has not been given a page for how it will be placed in a pile and and then put back in its place at the end, nothign changes how this project has been put forward in terms of EIA. A salivating Government gagging to get in on the EV battery EU money.......no blaise work here like other projects that have been named and shamed. I would be more worried if the Gov were not already acting like this is going into production.

BUT.... whilst you can participate yu might get £500 worth as so many want shares. So if you are lookng £20k you might be dissappointed....

Mining licence would suit at the bottom of a pile until EISA was complete. Other projects would have been processed in meantime as they received vital parts. This could not progress until EISA was passed.

You are familiar with receiving mining licences in Africa are you? Ones with new leadership recently?

WRONG - It does not matter on inputs are as long as output is within the spec customer wants.

The output 'does' depend on input. Put rubbish in get rubbish out. There is only so much the conversion can do, but if you start with a better raw material you will get a better output. However if the buyer wants an average product then it only needs an average raw material, it is the Tier 1 battery makers supplying say batteries for porsche will be paying good money for the best raw material so the refinery will be using the best material it can.

Fpvone, not all 6% spodumene is the same, even in that bracket there is docent qualities. How dry it is, iron content, purity and even ESG credentials. Premiums are paid by battery suppliers for a more reliable product going into the top batteries. Even the fact you have spodumene vs anything else (not brine) is favourable as spodumene is known and reliable. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I am not sure anyone assured you and the new president will anything...... However, ACP has got over the biggest hurdle to licence an EISA and paperwork is all that stands in the way of ML. New President is miner friendly and wants to create a positive international investment opportunity so nullifying licences would go down like a turd in a swimming pool. She is also not a grade A "£$Q!" and more modern leader wanting to build bridges than walls.....funeral and mourning followed by getting feet under the table before perhaps shaking a few cages to do some work maybe.

If you look up the platform it is 'new', ASX related and has Vulcan Energy on board too. So you can see this is a new trhing hence our choice being much unheard of, everything is being made up as they go along, it is new territory in this ESG space.

Locals can act all they like, just moaning does not justify stopping one of the best economic opportunities to Portugal. They have to complain about something the mine will actually affect and have a legitimate reason for it. That's if the EIA has not already mitigated it and APA agreed it was mitigated. If it is new then they will have an oppotunity mitigate it. Maybe with the PC, you will get those interested in it turning up and giving a different voice to the mine of support as they/children looking work, their shops have no turn over etc. Gov has been very voval about this mine and parades DA around and has him speak at Environment presentations etc. they seem to like the project and it is the key to unlocking great riches in the EU battery slush fund.

It is not just SAV hanging by the result, the whole of Portugal's presence in the EV battery alliance, money, industry and jobs is hanging on this! MDB is being groomed as the one to kick start it off. With no laws in place to stop the mining and you don't mine because some people whinge, well you set a precedence that you can't recover from. There would be no mining in Portugal if you folded at every whinger. But all projects have to pass a high ESG litmus test on EU standards of course. No mining is perfect but we need to do it, it is all mitigation and appeasement. I couldn't support a project that was taking advantage and destroying something without recourse. It cannot be argued that SAV is trying it's very best to do the right thing and fulfill all ESG requirements and has those local best mitigatedfor least disturbance whilst adding to the area positively.
