Revised calcs for artisanal mining

Gold spot minus 30% per oz = $3770

Revenue :10g/t at 4 tonnes per day (1.4oz) = $5,300

Costs: (AIC per oz = $1,500) = $2,100

Profit per day excluding other costs = $3,200

≈ $100k a month before admin costs

Ferring - a lot of posts about revenue used the 15.6g/t in their figures based on the last time they extracted from Bonanza (RNS below).

Carefree - yes I’m aware the 63g/t appeared to be a one off. But we’ve gone from expected 15.6g/t avg to 10g/t average?

Can’t disagree with that Fergal. They picked up a mess in Echo and have progressed it to within touching distance and yes if they become sustainable with Gold mining to get the GOPP running without further funding then I’ll applaud. But they haven’t helped themselves throughout 2025 saying they’ll restart mining after the rain then 9 months later still no idea when they’ll start. Still can’t fathom how the excuse to not restart mining back then was because they wanted results of the survey as they’d found more gold, but all of a sudden they’re willing to let contractors (when they’re appointed) to crack on before survey is completed…

So rough calcs…

MrP - the webinar said initials sales would be Gold Price minus 30% (based on industry standard), and AIC would be aiming between $1100 to $1500. Well established gold miners in Peru have AIC for 2025 ranging from $1500 - $1800 so the figures quoted in the webinar seemed optimistic in my own opinion.

Irony? Quoting RNSs and research of the mine during previous owner tenure is considered “not bringing something to the conversation”.

Whereas posting misleading profit figures that are completely wrong is “recommended” by others.

Absolutely, Carefree. That’s why posting artisanal mining “net profit” figures by simply doing expected tonnage by current gold price is very wide of the mark.

Some need to learn the distinction between net profit and revenues.

Revenue also needs to factor in that sales price will be 30% less than Gold spot. S Birrell quoted this in the webinar.

Despite us being deluded and “thick” you’ll find that over the last 18 months we’ve very rarely been proven wrong 🧐 90% down. Whereas others who have big chunky holdings tell us it will be 2p and beyond by 2025. I wonder how many poor souls threw in a few grand when reading such posts over the past 18 months. Only a few weeks left to get mining before a certain few promised to join the dark side 😉
