Foxy (the love of my life and soul mate and my shining light) often offers the "other objective side"......you just make stuff up and lie. One of you is grumpy old g1t who enjoys an argument and is clearly invested here; the other just seems to be a fairly unpleasant person. (i know you struggle with simple concepts, so for the avoidance of doubt, you're the second one - the worse one)

sbs: did we ever get the old rate confirmed? i thought we were just basing assumptions off what PF said at the AGM - which was pretty fluffy . I know we knew the amount that was charged by the port, but not sure we ever establish what portion of this was for scanning and then what "lion's share" actually equated to

Philip: I’m going to assume you don’t know how audits work.

If WSG couldn’t get their accounts ready for audit then yes, they’d have know it wasn’t going to happen on time sooner.

But it was clearly the BDO partner who made this call. Partners review the audit file gradually as the audit is done. On a smaller one, with a trusted team, they may not look at it until a way through the audit. They may then spot something that their junior colleagues have missed and so additional work is needed. If that happens too late then there is a chance that they have to delay. If that’s the case it’s hugely embarrassing for BDO rather than PF.

You have to remember that everyone is at home and so things will be more disjointed. On top of that Covid is an ver changing picture so provisions and forward looking statements are even more subjective than normal.

Honestly don’t think it’s a big issues (the delay). But I may be wrong.

Ozzie: my take is prudence. Would be seriously damaging to delay again. I assume it’s a discussion with the auditors over provisions....silly to give themselves a tighter deadline than they need.

Mr Coin: you’re totally right. Management can say whatever they like if it hasn’t been audited. They can spout all kinds of rubbish without fear of reprisal. They’re effective you. (Mike, that was sarcasm)

Do you know what the first thing they do on an audit? (Rhetorical question....you’ve clearly never been trusted to do a real job)....cash. The first thing is to audit the cash. That’s the first place to find fraud. So when they say they have £1.6m in cash, pretty sure the auditors know.

Normally it’s issues with provisions and other “subjective” items that cause disputes and delays.

BP are audited by Deloitte, the second largest audit firm in the country. They are paid literally millions to get the audit done on time. BDO are not to be sniffed at. But this audit is of a totally different magnitude.

Anyway, if there are any things they said today that are materially different come the results in 2 weeks I’ll buy you a nice meal and a pint and apologise to your face after the lockdown.

Passiton: that's the good thing about the Swiss making this call....going to give evidence to the rest of the world. Instead of us having to wait and check small samples of evidence we can see a whole country experiment. yes it's high risk but if they're right we should see pretty quickly.

I know what you mean....serious first world problems and i expect zero sympathy...but i've had a week's family skiing, two long weekends skiing and a cycling weekend in France all cancelled. i can't see us being allowed to go to Menorca as planning in July and even a trip to the holiday home in Devon in August looks shaky.

i've already taken some time off for a home based staycation and it was not as relaxing as one might hope!

since i'm clinging on to employment i really can't complain....but my heart jumped when i saw that the Swiss are allowing under 10s to hug their grandparents......surely if that's scientifically proven (that young kids can't transmit it) the primary schools can open up soon!?!?!?
