trade is no a zero sum game...if done properly there are many winners. and trade wars are proven to be economically detrimental for all concerned....and the primary impact is a hit to the pockets of the country that issues tariffs (in this case the US consumer). prices go up and the economy can't adapt initially to increase supply of the items that are now expensive due to tariffs. it may in the medium term even out trade balances a little.....but it think that it will hurt Trump supporters in the mean time.

last time we got this sort of buying was the day of the Iran RNS - massive buying when someone knew the RNS was logged, then massive selling when it came out. this is not a leak....a: this ship does leak (SQ aside) b: this is nowhere near enough buying for a leak

i don't think you can hang your hat on anything that Trumpy says (especially when in this case he's talking *******s - he pulled out last month not 3 months ago, Iran have shown no signs of change), but if it's him starting to talk his way out of sanctions then that's great for WSG (and sanity). now if he can move the US embassy back to Tel Aviv and un-kill all those Palestinians then all can be forgiven.

Thanks Mike, very reassuring. it's basically what he said in the RNS, but nice to have it reiterated in slightly different language. my concern is not that the deal won't go through, it's more that the market will not give WSG much credit for it once it does. i mean it has to trade at above 50p, but i do think that the 100p is more of a stretch now. that may have to wait for the other MOU.

...the deal is Iran and on hold and no other news has come this week. but people are selling now....the only reason to do that now (in my opinion) is that you think the Iran contract has become less likely. i haven't seen anything to make me think that the wider Iran nuclear deal is any more likely to fail....so i'm confused.

...at past prices, but we're not that much above where we were in mid December when people seemed to have given up on the ME deal and there wasn't any talk of another MOU being converted in 2018, oh and there was no $4.5m scanner deal. so it seems that the market may have less than zero priced in for the Iran deal now....odd.

lego: just to play devil's advocate - yes it did reach nearly �1 back in late 2013, but the market cap then was about �42m at the peak, in Jan this year it reached about �34m.....so not that far off. i have faith that the Iran contract can come through....so long as the whole nuclear deal doesn't fall down completely. and i suspect that the BoD can string this along long enough to sign the other MOU (assuming that actually happens this year) then the share price should still fly.

this is categorically not an investment...no money is going into the business.....it is free money for management (and to a lesser extent employees) IF they get the share price to something sensible. PF will be sitting pretty if this hits 100p..that's over �6m (depending on what his various strike prices are he'll have to pay a bit to get all those shares)...so you can't say he's not incentivised to get the share price up. it does feel like a bit of a kick to investors given where the share price has gone in the last few years. but if he can get this to a two pounds then i won't begrudge his �12m when i walk away with my 1
