OMG all the headlines now are trashing PCRs and bigging up LFTs which are suddenly more reliable. Trusted media say so, so it must be true.

Actually, that’s a really good point.

So now the LFT is the short term value driver again? That’s a bit confusing. Don’t forget that whilst AVCT have the Kamanis behind them, Mologic have Gates et al. Just a thought but perhaps the pivot to oncology in the last investor presentation was AS’ way of preparing us for AffiDX never having its day in the sun. After all, Mologic is a “social enterprise” not a not for profit organisation. They will want to make profits in richer nations to help with health issues in poorer ones. (Ably assisted by the new UN Envoy, Matt Han****.)

PCR tests have been giving false positives from the outset - all to do with hyping up the pandemic.

Don’t trust the Govt to support U.K. diagnostics in any way shape or form. It could be Javid’s turn to feather his nest by creating more Chinese billionaires at our expense. I would love to know why all has gone silent regarding that Innova factory in Wales. (Hopefully they decided against it.)

We should all write to FTI Consulting to get them to take action and get Avacta onto every possible list (not just U.K. Gov approved but all the others…European, Australian etc. Currently all dominated by the same old Chinese names!

I wrote this article on the 15/02/2021. The next day Avacta just announced the results of their initial clinical trials: they achieved sensitivity of 96.7% and specificity of 100%. This was exactly the benchmark I was looking for, and indicates that it could be the gold standard after further trials. In my opinion this is the major de-risking event and will allow Avacta to now go on to mass manufacture the tests.

If AffiDX is more difficult to make than other LFTs, it doesn’t bode well for the diagnostics pipeline.

I’m still convinced that it’s a matter of Avacta protecting its own reputation. Public is wary of LFT reliability so they use PCR test to confirm. As discussed yesterday, PCR can magic a positive result out of virion particle soup. So if AffiDX says negative but PCR says positive, nobody will trust AffiDX. Govt either has to change PCR settings or recommend that ‘new’ GB produced LFTs are the new gold standard and PCR no longer reliable.

I doubt that Timster. Only 10% of 12-15 year olds in England have been jabbed. They’ll have to fix that with some kind of coercion or scare campaign.
